I am sorry, but, as a reviewer, I must be blunt. This edit fails for a number of reason. By no means am I "flaming" and I will try to explain why I believe this edit does not work.

In the beginning, you have a title card which says "Book of the Dead." This card shows up far too abruptly right after the Necronomicon explanation and is in horrendously low quality. I know that you culled it from an early trailer for the first movie, but it is in such a plain font that I don't see why it wouldn't have been better to just replace it with a digitally made one. It is simply off-white on a black background and is only in the left side of the screen.

Later, when Ash buries Linda again, it really is a break in pacing and quality. Ash abruptly seems much older and the color shifts radically. A better option if you wanted to do this probably would be to just cut out stop-motion Linda rising from the grave in Evil Dead II. That way it could be assumed that Ash, in shock, did not bury her, and had to face the consequences later on.

While the edit's idea of cutting the secondary characters before they get to the cabin is really good, as it builds a sense of isolation, this was just not carried out properly. I caught a few flash frames of Ed and Annie from the scenes you cut. Technically, this is a pretty bad misfire. Later, you say you cut out some of the campy bits. Unfortunately, this does cause continuity errors. For example, you cut Jake jumping in the room, but now he abruptly appears there. You could say that his is corny, but is it really worth the suddenness of an error like that? One cut I did like was the easing off of the blood flood. It help the tones of the films match a but on a level.

Near the end, you cut out Ash arriving in medieval times, but inexplicably leave in the reference to the Man from the Sky. This is especially odd since it could easily have been cut. The picture of the Man from the Sky makes it obvious that Ash is going to be sent back to medieval times, and it really needed to be cut out to accomodate your ending.

Despite all, I must take time to praise the ending. You were able to cut it at such a place that it appears Ash was destroyed along with all the evil in an explosion of the vortex. I'm not sure if you realized it or not but in doing this you perfectly emulated the sense of unfairness in the ending of the first Evil Dead. Despite everything that Ash has done, he is simply killed off just like that. It really is effective and shocking to the audience. As said before cutting out "The Man From the Sky" would be ideal to kill any notion Ash may be alive still. So kudos on this part.

Technically, this edit is not that good, with flash flames. The video is pretty compressed and can get blocky at times. The audio is all right but transitions could be smoothed out. Keeping the commentaries was a nice idea but when listening to them, they get cut abruptly with each cut and it would have been wiser to tweak these a bit if you wanted them in. The added logos in the beginning are completely random, unnecessary, and quite low quality... I doubt this passes fanedit.org's quality standards and I'm not quite sure why, as an unapproved fanedit, it is in the approved section of fanedit.info... Someone may want to change that.

Sorry, but if you really want to this a V2 edit might be in order. A possibility, not oft-used is usng DVD Shrink to edit from the actual DVDs and then combining the titles. I would suggest this only if you had no good video editing software. You could make a pretty nice DVD-9 of this edit that way with minimal quality loss.
