This fan edit increases the pace of the movie by removing subplots and a number of scenes in which there was little if any activity. This meant to provide an alternate viewing experience to the original movie.

INTENTION:
To speed up the pace of the movie. The movie simply moved too slowly for me to enjoy it, even though I thought it had some interesting elements. The aerial combat scenes are well done and all the CGI animation is excellent. The basic theme is also interesting. However, the director’s attempt to contrast the extremely high level of tension in the combat scenes with the mundane existence of the pilots on the ground did not work for me. There were too many scenes in which the characters stood around smoking and saying nothing. Too many scenes were drawn out to emphasize the tedium, and it becomes tedious to watch. Also, there were two sub-plots that contributed little or nothing to the story.
