I had only watched this movie once and that was years ago. I remember thinking that it was too long and too slow.
But then again, I was probably expecting something different.

I watchedt this last night with my son who is now 8 years old.
It isn't heavy on action and is big on character development in the early going.
I asked my son if he thought it was boring and he said that it wasn't boring at all.
He was very into the slow build up and mystery of it all.

Obviously, he also had a strong connection with the son, Joseph, in the movie.
I had totally forgot about the whole father/son relationship. Probably because I had watched this before my son was born.
So that was another aspect of the movie that I personally connected to and really enjoyed.

Even though it's rated PG-13, this surprisingly makes for a great watch with the kids since there isn't that much violence and I can't recall any swearing either.

The editing is superb and seamless.
Video and audio is great which is the norm for CBB fanedits.

The only suggestion that I'd make would be to cut the opening text regarding comic books as that seems out of place and/or gives something away too early.

A very enjoyable FanEdit. Some of the positions of the deleted scenes feel a little odd at times especially when inserted within an existing scene. There are also some interlacing issues.

Still, this is a compelling watch that holds together because of the strong narrative.

A version 2 from the Blu-ray source would be welcome as I think this FanEdit deserves it. Some minor flow issues could be smoothed out at the same time.

When I saw Unbreakable in the theater, it was one of the only times I've ever wished a movie were longer. I simply did not want the movie to end. I've kept this feeling all this time, and so it makes sense that this is the first extended edition I've been interested in watching.

All of these added scenes are appreciated, and they really do add to an already great movie.

Sadly I was distracted at times by some scenes which suffered from poorly interlaced footage. These annoying lines were especially visible during the deleted scene "Audrey and Joseph at the hospital" and during the finale "fight" scene, although there were another few moments of it during the movie that didn't last as long and weren't as distracting (such as the last moments of the deleted scene at the fair). Not a huge problem, but detracted from the experience.

All in all, it is still my ideal version of the movie for the time being. 7 stars.

I am an extended edition buff and have a big collection of original ones and all the fanedits from here.
Many extended editions do not add anything to the movie, just add more useless scenes. I will rate the ones here.
Rating criteria: image quality, sound quality, 3x improvement, overall.
Image Quality: 7 of 10
Sound Quality: 9 of 10
Improvement: 7 of 10
Overall: 7 of 10

extended editions are hard to rate for me... does it make a bad movie good? does it make a good movie better?

"absolutely unbreakable" is an easy one, tho. all of these scenes expand on the characters in the film that the audience NEEDS to connect with. the scenes with the priest and the fair are obvious additions that lift this movie up a bit.

it would be interesting to see a true fanedit of absolutely unbreakable - can this be cut down for greater impact?

entertainment 8/10
fanediting 10/10
video 9/10
audio 10/10
original 7/10
fanedit 8/10
presentation 9/10
