Agreed with last reviewer. ADM, you need to do more cutting and less adding! Half of the movie Lucas made is garbage and your running time is longer than the original! You added totally unnecessary scenes into the beginning that weren't even digitally finished and only serve to drag out what was already the most painful part of the entire movie. I would prefer to re-watch Sithlord's edit, which also made the mistake of adding the fuel cell footage in the beginning but had a stronger grasp on the art of storytelling and flow.

You clearly are still too spell-bound by the dark lord, George Lucas, and have too much love in your heart for this material. Your grasp of editing technology and some of the tricks involved is fine. Now you need to work on the tools of story telling and what makes a story work. Less is more often than not better.

Hey ADM I LOVE some of your edits...just not this one.

I gotta say that this film in original form is just as weak as episode 2. Ep 3, IMO, needs heavy cutting to even make it watchable. I'm not sure why everyone is hesitant to hack EP 3 up because... the movie really sucks.

So I've been looking around for a decent ROTS edit - not that it's a bad film, but one that might cut down the bad dialogue or unnecessarily long scenes.

Thought I'd give this one a try as I liked the look of the re-integrated scenes.

What I liked:

Battle droids & Nemoidian captain voices modulated to sound deeper and less silly. Yes, good
The re-insertion of the deleted scenes, esp Yoda going to Dagobah
Jar Jar Who?
Anakin more readily chooses the Dark Side
Despite the comments above - the R2D2 not slamming into a wall isn't a jarring cut. I barely noticed it.
Editing was fairly seamless

What I didn't like:
There is still far too much bad dialogue around - the ending is horrible for all this 'Sith's deal in Absolutes' or 'Anakin I have the higher ground'...less talkie talkie, more fighting. 'Another happy landing'? WTF?
At the end of the third scene of the birth of the rebellion, the dramatic music for the next scene comes in way too early
Qui Gonn's voice doesn't seem to work for me, but it's a nice idea.
There appears to be a couple plotholes - Sidious and Yoda are fighting and in the next shot - Sidious is above him throwing things down.Or Anakin and Obi-Wan are suddenly in water near the start, I didn't quite understand why.
Padmes death - she says Leia a bit quick for me.

The sound and picture are both excellent.

I was mildly disappointed in this edit, I thought it would go much further than it did, but I'm beginning to see that ADM fanedits tend to be quite minimal in removal. This seems to be the case here. Good effort, but not my cup of tea.

I thought the ROTS was one of the best fan edits I have ever seen, and adding Qui Gons voice was a touch of genius.
Thanks ADM once again a great very enjoyable movie.

I want to see a fan edit that changes some of the dialogue before Anakin's duel with Obi Wan. Namely, I want to see Padme's line "you're breaking my heart!" removed, because it sounded completely unnatural (simply having her say "I don't know you anymore" was plenty to get that point across, so the line after was forced and redundant), and also Obi Wan's line about how "only a sith deals in absolutes." That line was serious WTFage, and total BS. The whole reason sith are bad is because they believe in moral relativism rather than clear right and wrong. I may check this edit out, but I thought ROTS was already a pretty solid film and those are the two changes that I think really needed to be made to it. All the films other faults are fairly minor to me, but those two lines are the ones that have always stuck out as needing to be cut from the film.

Great start, like the poster said above I would have left out most of the tunneling that shows the cables and some greenscreen after Kenobi and Anakin cut thru the floor, as those shots were incomplete effects shots. You could have left those last shots of them crawling thru the tubes, but not the others. I liked the Neeson voice overs, but it might be a good idea in the future to see if you can look at more of his work, like the two Narnia movies where he voices Aslan. Overall good editing, and a great effort. I would have gotten rid of the oil/fire slapstick with R2 and the battledroids before I would have gotten rid of R2 slamming into a wall. (I thought his slamming into the wall made more sense to keep. But all well a nice effort. Hope you revise it some in the future.

This comment will cover all the prequel edits for ADM.

I came to download these versions of the prequel trilogy after watching The Phantom Editor's versions of Episode 1 and 2, and while he still has Midichlorians in his flick, he doesn't have a version of Episode 3, and I'm a bit of a completest. I'm now in the process of downloading your versions of the original trilogy, for completeness sake.

First off with what you had to work with, it's like you made apple pie with something not so pleasant. I don't consider myself a Star Wars purist, I want Han to shoot first, and I wish the word Midichlorian was never uttered.

That said, is it possible to make these three films cannon? Officially and not just by those of us who care about the Star Wars story? All of the tweaks and edits were near perfection, making the best out of what was given and adding back in what should have been in there in the first place. Shaak-Ti being killed for one, and the subsequent escape through the coolant tank. Trimming out the whiny emo Anikan, less Jar-Jar (actually did this better in places than The Phantom Editor did). I almost expected to see a ghostly image of Qui-Gon appear to Obi Won, or even to Yoda when he lands on Dagoba, but that is just wishful thinking, the voice over was great, except it was a little loud compared to the rest of the movie.

And while nothing is perfect, this unfortunately had some flaws. Most notably they appear in Episode I where you remove Jar-Jar's lines in the Gungan sub, and one line wasn't totally removed at one scene and sounded like a whisper. I'm not familiar with editing software, so I suspect it might not have been possible to remove that line completely. However, the character still moves his mouth, it would have been better to just cut the scene completely. It happens again in Episode III when Gen Grevious's ship is being attacked by the Jedi, one of the Trade Federation people, with the werid sounding voices talks, but the line is removed, in fact I think a lot of the lines are cut, kind of making the scene drag.

Poor R2-D2. He gets turned into slapstick comedy in Episode III. Lost of your edits work very well, except for one scene with R2. The scene where he comes blasting out of the elevator and slams into the wall. You tried valiantly to give some dignity back to this pivotal character, but at the expense to a jarring edit. R2 must have some powerful 4 disk brakes to stop moving so fast. A better scene to have cut would have been the Battle Droid kicking over R2.

Overall a phenomenal job editing these three films, and bringing some greatness back to a seminal scifi film series.
