This is simply an amazing FE.

I've seen some great extended versions, and I've seen some great tweaked versions.
But this is a completely different and much better movie then the one its made from.

Although "made from" might be a bit misleading because I just saw this movie on cable about a month ago and I dont recognize half of this footage.
It seems to be heavily constructed from alternate footage or something.

But this isn't just an alternate takes version, the real kicker is how much better it is!

I thought the original was a bit to furiously maligned.
It wasn't very good, but still more interesting than 85% of the shlock out there.

It had a lot of interesting visuals and stand alone scenes which is Ridley's knack that he will never lose and can even be found in his worst movies.

But the narrative made no sense!
It was like watching a bunch of cool scenes stuck together without any clearly discernible thread tying one to the next.

CBB has seemlessly reinserted a ton of footage that suddenly explains like 20 plot holes!

I am also blown away by the skill and attention to detail used to quicken the overall pace without losing any of the narrative. And in fact improving it 10 fold.

Truncating the shootout sequence at the beginning to a quick flashback was the first touch of brilliance.

CBB has done what Ridley Scott himself couldn't do with his own footage.
Thats an accomplishment to be proud of.

Bravo.

I like it. But today it doesn't look as professional as your new fanedits (I don't like this title sign and there were several choppy jump). I think you should make re-edits and change some things. And cut scene in perfume shop, because an audience and Hannibal know too early that Hannibal knows Pazzi following after him.

P.S: Please, make also xvid/dvdrip version of this movie.

P.S2: I like your fanedits:)

Unlike CBB, I really like Hannibal the way it is. I actually look forward to reading the novel again, assuming I can bring myself to start from Red Dragon again! While the editing is done very skilfully, it's a shame that the black-level varies in the deleted scenes. That aside the edit is very good, however I will be returning to the original version which I feel tells the story the correct way. I don't think all of the new scenes fitted into the movie very well - like the new version of Starling receiving Lecter's letter seemed to me more like the kind of sequence you might expect in an action movie, not in a thriller/drama movie. Still, this edit is well worth seeing if you're a fan of the original movie, on the downside it deviates from the book far more then the original film.
