The focus is the Korben and Leeloo story. I want more mistery. I think there’s no need to repeat time after time that there is a threat from space and only hope is “fifth element”….so, I cut egypt intro and most of secondary threads…..

this edit removes two aspects of the original movie:
- Removal of tucker character as the DJ
Although his performance as an actor is good and neatly performed , and the character is the comic relief for the movie. Why does it feel good to remove him?
In my opinion two reasons:
reason number two: the part is too much “overdone” the various lines , the body language , the costumes (i mean look at his hair!), too much is too much.
reason number one: whenever he talks he is shouting. The tone of his voice *does not* suit a comic relief character. And that’s that.
- Removal of the ancient prophecy
This changes the story , shortens the movie , in an attempt to make the threat more mysterious.
In my opinion fails uterly. Because the threat is not visible anymore.
The watching experience of his fanedit is not as enjoyable as all other fanedit I’ve seen. In my opinion it’s because the “threat” has been tampered with , thus the balance for the story told is upset.

I really enjoyed this edit. I think that it works very well as it is cut. Voodl has done a great job. The audio and video are quite nice, and thanks to boon23 we have a really nice DVD authored & cover art to accompany this nice edit. I really liked that Tucker’s character has been greatly reduced. It allows the focus back to the story and makes it a much more enjoyable film. I recommend this to all. 5 of 5

I love the original and this one was not bad, but in my opinion weaker.
