Your intention for this fanedit: More, More, More

Your way to achieve your intention:

  • Add as many funny and relevent deleted scenes as possible

Hardware and software information :

  • DVD Decrypter
  • VirtualDubMPEG
  • Womble MPEG Video Wizard
  • Cinematize Pro
  • Cinema Craft Encoder 2.7
  • DVDLab Pro 2

Additional Comment:

  • The deleted scenes varied in quality i have cleaned up as many as possible but there are still differences in the sharpness of some and the colour although this is only blatently obvious in a few scenes. all in all im extrmely happy with how this edit went and having access to the score really helped with a few of the trickier scenes. (many thanks DHR001!!)
  • I have incorporated some experimental Fanedit liability protection (feedback on this would be highly useful) as well as the usual fanedit warning screen on insertion of the dvd there is also a check screen between the main menu and the movie which forces you to choose whether you own the movie or not. if you select no you get a small easter egg but cannot ultimately watch the movie as you are then returned to the 10 second warning screen. finally i have hardcoded “This is a Fanedit you must own the original to legally watch this movie” into the main movie stream right at the beginning.

Time needed for the edition: Couple of weeks on and off (more on than off though)

  1. the avi has no sound throughout and the video quality gets real blocky around 36 minutes in, any chance a re-rlsd avi version can be upped?

  2. Huh, my other comment didn’t get published.

I like what you’ve done here – too minor things:

Jump cut – Jay and Bob enter Moobys….you could have left it out, or started the extended scene a few seconds later at the change of angle.

Missed the ‘Justice is dead, or so Jay thinks’ when the van explodes.

Jump cut – Will Farrell turns up at the explosion shot, either chop the theatrical release start or cut slightly later. There’s plenty of shot changes to make this seemless.

Other than that – all completely seemless and a really good effort, very professional.

  3. dunno how that happened white43, i made a straight rip from the DVD and the problems you mention weren’t in the dvd release, so im surprised you seem to be missing a few bits here and there.

  4. Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back Harder rocked, loved every second of it, those bong-suckers rule

Same here, I downloaded it and enjoyed it thoroughly. Very nice job converting the deleted scenes to 16×9.

It was exactly what I expected: J&SBSB with deleted scenes put back in, looking as good as they could. I enjoyed it quite thoroughly. Only reason it gets a 4 and not a 5 is because the source material wasn’t perfect to start with, but nOmArch definitely did the best he could with the existing footage.

I gave it 4 out of 5 for the exact same reasons. Good job!

  5. it was way cool to see all the deleted scenes back in the movie. there was some funny stuff here.

Editing: 4 / 5 The footage was lined up really nicely. the deleted scenes were well integrated. There were obviousl some things left out (the multiple takes on things) but overall fine.

Video: 3 / 5 Their was some stutter throughout the entire movie. It mostly occurred as a blurring in motion shots. It was not too distracting, but noticeable. Also, I know much work was put into attempting to clean up the deleted scenes, but I think they could have been improved a bit more (in terms of color, levels and sharpness). not bad though

Audio: 4 / 5 Pretty good. I only noticed 1 hard transition, and once or twice the volume seemed slightly different, but overall nice job on reintegrating everything.

Entertainment: 5 / 5 What can I say, I love every minute of these scenes

DVD design: 4 / 5 Nice main menu. Chapter menu seemed a little cut & paste, but overall nice disc

FINAL rating: 4 / 5 Nice work. I think the video could have used some more attention, but it was great to sit down and watch all of this together. thanks nOm ;)

  6. Awesome!
Although the deleted scenes are poorer in quality, putting them back really improve the experience!

    9/10!

  7. I am an extended edition buff and have a big collection of original ones and all the fanedits from here.
Many extended editions do not add anything to the movie, just add more useless scenes. I will rate the ones here.
Rating criteria: image quality, sound quality, 3x improvement, overall.
    Image Quality: 5 of 10
    Sound Quality: 7 of 10
    Improvement: 6 of 10
    Overall: 6 of 10
