Gangrel technically constructed this edit. Conceptually it he should get the credit. V.2 was mostly just a clean-up and some minor tweaks. Also, the 1945 cut was the closest to the original book. Using the reshot 1946 scenes makes it LESS like the novel, not more. Still, it's a great movie and while the trims made for the '46 version were intended to improve the pacing, removing parts of a complicated story isn't always a good idea. This edit is the one I always watch. (Now if someone would just CG some rain into that one scene...)
