This edit of Ladder 49 shows the movie in sequential order without the flashbacks which seemed to deflate the present time suspense. Some of the excess humor with the firehouse pranks were cut as they weren’t that funny to begin with. Kennedy’s eulogy has been removed because all it did was sum up what we already knew about Jack. And a new song has been applied to the funeral parade montage for more emotional impact.
