I enjoyed the original version of this movie, but I also like this alternate version, which successfully removes the campiness factor. It's not perfect, but very good. Imagine this edit combined with the Sandman-less edit. That would be interesting too.

At any rate, if I ever get a hankerin' to watch Spider-Man 3, this is the one I'd grab off the shelf. Good job as usual, ADM!

I enjoyed this edit. You delivered on taking out the campiness. But Spiderman 3 still lets me down no matter how its edited. I cant stand how they did Venom.

Just watched this over my girlfriend's house with her. You did a great job at editing this movie, HOWEVER, there still remains a lot more to be cut. I'd give this edition a 6/10 in terms of Watachbility whereas the original gets about a 3/10. Flawless editing, great job.

Man, I adored this edit, you made it so much bether.

The only thing I tougth felt out of place, and its so minor I feel ridiculous pointing it out, is the music for the menu/few seconds before the initial credits, as much as I love the campy music from the old toons it felt really out of place in whats suposed to be the darker version of the story as it should have been, but like I said, its so minor its almost irrelevant. The actuall edit of the film was absolutley perfect, personally I really liked the way you cut the phone conversations scenes and aded the new music on top of it, it felt absolutley diferent in a good way, nice bold move that for me payed off big.

Was really excited to see this edit as I was very dissapointed with the original film for the same reasons as ADM.

The edit as a whole is very good, cuts are seamless, especially the end battle with the annoying reporter.

The only problem I had with it was the added music in the phone convo scene, it felt really out of place and the moment it started my girlfriend and I both looked at each other in horror at the inclusion. I understand the intention to make the scene more serious in tone but it took me away personally and is my only qualm in an otherwise flawless, exceptional piece of fan editing.

Review by me, Ghostcut, on faneditforum.com:

I really wanted to like Spider-Man 3, but when I got the DVD and tried to watch it, I couldn't help but skip through a 3½ hour film, which was messy, badly acted and written, and just far too long.

ADM's Spider-Man 3 attempted to tackle some of the worst parts of the film, like Saturday Night Peter (in which I think How It Should Have Ended parodied it perfectly) and the more pointless moments.

However, unfortunately there is a lot that should have gone. Much of the things revolving around Mary-Jane were longer than they should have been. (Just for the record, I didn't mind ADM leaving Bruce Campbell in, I really enjoyed those moments which brought levity to an otherwise poor scene). But it is a marked improvement over the original film, and although I found myself skipping many scenes I did like this much better than the original.

Technically, as always, it is excellently edited. Absolutely flawless, can't fault it.

The problem is that ADM basically wasn't brutal enough with his editing.

The original film I personally gave 2 out of 5 for watchability, I give this fan edit 3½ out of 5 in that category.

Technical achievement is 5 out of 5, as with pretty much all ADM fan edits it's perfect (see above).

All together I give it 3 out of 5. I may be doing another fan edit based on this one in the future, as if I did it myself I would have cut exactly the things he has.

Finally got to see this...
Good job man. Some things i'm surprised you left in, others i was surprised you took out. That added music in the connors scene is interesting...makes the tone of the scene much more serious in Peters arrogance instead of being goofy with the dancing shit. Really cool...loved the venom voice...i mean if it could fuck his teeth up...why not his voice too!!! excellent decision. I'd like to see your edits of 1 and 2 if you ever decide to make those.

Keep up the good work.

Hey man, I'm really interested in your cut, as I'm planning on one myself. But, is it possible to upload it to Torrents or Newsgroups (preferably) like you're Superman Returns one? I downloaded that off Newsgroups and it was excellent! I only ask, because I really would like to see you're cut, but I don't have the time for rapidshare, nor does it agree with my computer sometimes (I don't even know why).

Anyways, keep up the amazing work.
