INTENTION:
There are 4 different commercially available cuts of this film, all with their own unique scenes and footage. I wanted to create a composite version with every scene. Sources used: (Theatrical Cut), 124 mins (Director’s Cut), 121 mins (Hybrid Cut).
CUTLIST:
Includes everything in the Theatrical Cut plus:
- – Extended police briefing scene, including start and Will addressing the cops
- – Will and Molly talking on the phone
- – Will meeting Dr. Chilton
- – Extended dialogue between Will and Lecktor
- – Real estate agent showing Will the Jacobi house (non sped up version)
- – Jack informing Will about Molly coming over
- – Will and Molly talking in hotel room
- – Longer version of Will in the Leeds house
- – Shot of Jack leaning against wall
- – Extra shots of Will and Jack while watching the home videos
- – Will visiting the Tooth Fairy’s next victims

- I re-authored the DVD with all new menus and animated scene selection as well as some nice transition clips. I think it looks pretty nice. I did not alter video, sound, chapters or subtitles. Enjoy.

another fantastic hybrid from leonenut. i’ve actually never seen many of these additional scenes so what a great movie experience! 5/5

Finally found and watched this extended edition and it lives up to the above description. An absolute MUST for any Manhunter fan. Best version, better that commercially produced editions.

Fantastic job. Unfortunately I noticed that you chose to use the 6 shots instead of 5 at the film’s climax. Be advised that the Charter Arms Bulldog the character used only holds 5 shots. Sorry.

I am an extended edition buff and have a big collection of original ones and all the fanedits from here.
Many extended editions do not add anything to the movie, just add more useless scenes. I will rate the ones here.
Rating criteria: image quality, sound quality, 3x improvement, overall.
Image Quality: 8 of 10
Sound Quality: 9 of 10
Improvement: 7 of 10
Overall: 8 of 10

Easily the best version of the already excellent thriller/chiller. Well done, Leonenut. And, as much as I like the Hannibal flicks with Hopkins as Dr. Lecter, I think this is right up there with “SOTL”. I’d have liked to have seen how Brian Cox would have expanded the role had he got another chance. Col. Hutty has it right IMO in his ratings. This version of “Manhunter” is a winner and the one to own.
