I was never a big fans of any of the 80s/90s Batman movies, they just didn't click with me. Purely based on the above reviews (I read them all pretty carefully), I decided to D/L this one.

I was how "more" watchable this movie is as a fanedit. NOT because of the edit, but because of the source material, I won't watch it a second time. I definitely agree with Sunarep, this edit is like watching a TV episode; it's a viewable edit - I just don't think "editing" this movie will really improve this movie - it's just not good.

Essentially good technical ability. 4/5 for me as well.

As much as I love Uma Thurman, let's face it, in this movie she was asleep at the wheel. No matter how editing is done with htis, her performance will still be horrible - but so will Arnie's. Yep, his acting is a typical Arnie act, horrible one-liners but no edit will really change his acting. (NOTE: I used to love Arnie movies - "Total Recall", "Running Man" to name a couple - and years later, I find I just can't get thru them anymore.

So, I can understand hw the more "Batman fanboy" woud like this movie, but it's not for me.

Wow... i didn't think Batman and Robin could be edited to be enjoyable, but boy this was a fun ride - of course the inherent Schumacher-crazyness is still in the movie, but this edit felt like a fun Batman TV-Episode

this might be nostalgia talking... but this fanedit is perfect. i love it. you wouldn't know from watching this fanedit that the original is SO BAD. seriously. watch the fanedit and THEN watch the original again. pretty horrible, huh? you wiped it from your memory, didn't you? :) :) :)

technical quality is a bit less than perfect (4/5) but this actually fits well (imho) with the animated series and in that context is an easy 5/5. still... the movie is not great :( however, what this edit creates is the opportunity for repeated viewings!

batman fanboys (like myself) will rate this MUCH higher than the normal viewer... it misses 5/5 for me by just a scosh!

Wow! Who new there was something enjoyable lurking under that mountain of crap. Very nice cut. However, I will say it's a very... ODD film to watch. You must have cut at least 70% of the dialogue, because there are loooong strecths where no one speaks at all. This gave me a weird feeling that I was watching some old silent serial. It also made some cuts seem rather abrupt, because it was obviously time for a one-liner and you just moved right along to the next bit of action. Not that either of these things is necessarily bad... just strange.

I'm very impressed that you managed to avoid making Bane look like total shit (he was in an inflatable suit for God's sake) although that meant you had to cut him out of the third act entirely. In fact, I was shocked when he popped up after the credits, because I had forgotten all about him. You're clearly right about Uma Thurman's Ivy. Even with all the trimming you did she's still absolutely ridiculous in her delivery of every single line. As for Mr. Freeze, I actually think you cut a few to many lines from him. I mean, what's an Arnold Schwarzenegger performance without terrible one-liner's?

Overall, I think you did about as much as was possible to save this without turning it into something other than a 90's Batman movie. Which brings me to my most important point. As I said, watching this made me feel like I was watching a silent serial, and I think that would really be the way for someone to go. Just scrub the rest of the dialogue, desaturate the colors, and throw in some improved dialogue cards. Viola... Best Batman & Robin possible. Anyway, as it stands, 4 stars. You really polished a turd here my friend.

While I personaly think that 'Batman Forever' was the absolute worst of the original four films, 'B&R' runs a close second.

This isn't a perfect edit of course, because the source material is fairly weak. What this becomes, though, is a hyper-kinetic live-action triple-episode of the early-90s animated series. Watching it in that state of mind elevates this edit to something sublime.

The title alone made me want to see this :)
All the unnecessary stuff removed actually makes this thing watchable. Amazing that at least an hour of stuff cut was so unnecessary. Still the worst Batman movie ever made, but at least now, when I have the urge to watch all my Batman movies, this will be the one I choose instead of the original B&R.
