- removed the TV interview (over the top)
- added serum scene from Blade2 to make a bridge to Whistler delivering the newspaper
- moved serum inhaler scene into Whistler’s daughter fighting the vampires scene
- removed Dr. Vance’s evaluation talk to Blade (this made no sense since he is a familiar and Blade may be in his own world, but he watches the news on TV, so he will know both the current date and who is the president)
- removed the fight for authority between the chief of police and the FBI agents (unnecessary)
- added flashback to see the development of the vampires

- removed some more of the shooting sequences during the escape (it is unbelievable enough that they escape from a police headquarter)

CBB Overview
Conceptual improvements/advancements of edit over original:
The original movie was a major disappointment, because of being undediced between a comicbook movie, a parody, a comedy and a horror-action movie. Also the movie was obviously created for teenagers and tried too hard to be “hip”, which it never was.
We deleted 50% of spoken text, 99% lame jokes and cut out 22 minutes, which will not be missed. With about 50 cuts we tried to make this a true horror action movie and a worthy finish of the Blade series. We recreated a lot of sound and score elements to alter the overall atmosphere.
Time needed for the edition:

Enjoyed this one a lot. Scenes where I’d cringed at the over the top humor were just gone. Loved it!

After comparing the two this one is class. I didn’t like Blade 3, after two cool films they producing garbage with its jokey theme running through out. With a slight (lot) of tweaking and cutting I found I enjoyed the film as it fitted more in line with the previous outings of Blade. Now I’m looking to view some of the other available fanedits, starting with the War of the Worlds which was out classed by the original 1953 version. Thanks to all involved in making these and to the seeder.

Finally got the whole thing yesterday and watched it today. Awesome edit. Way better than the original. My only complaint is that you should have put in the extended versions ending of Blade waking up in the autopsy room and leaving instead of the cut away point you left it at. Did you want him to appear permanently dead? Granted, you did put in the part of him riding away on the motorcyle, but you leave the viewer hanging as to how he got out. This must be your intention. Other than that, the new edit is excellent. A must own. Totally agree with all the Hannibal lame dialog snips, except for one or two that were funny.

The 44th RS file link isn’t working. Please look into this so I, and others, can download it. Thanks.

Finally Blade 3 is a watchable movie. My friend and I agree that you did a really good job here. Before the edit it was a lame movie. Nothing I would have watched a second time. Now it is a good movie. The only thing we did not like were the leftover scenes from the tripod: The ones where Abigail puts her earphones in and downloads some new songs. But thats all there is to complain and that is not much…
Thanks for your work,
Lolgard

This edit looks really promising, im looking forward to watching this.
However, im almost done with all the split Iso files, so I decided to download the joining program and it leads me to a movie news site that doesnt seem to have software anywhere and must have taken over the originals domain name, I was wondering if anyone could direct me to another mirror download site for the software or sugest another good iso joining program. Thanks in advance.

sorry for that, the link has been changed. I corrected that now. The program you need is HJSPLIT. As for the image burning program I suggest the freeware program imgburn.

Loved it, Its such a great version. David S. Goyer writes stuff that seems good when filtered througth someone else with talent, In this case you are that one. You trimed all the mediocrity out of it and pulled out something great.

Having only passively paid attention the first go-around with this movie, I must say this edit truly brings Blade back up to snuff of at least Blade II, but not quite the original, though that is no way the editor’s fault, blame Hollywood sequelitis. I had never noticed how bad Ryan Reynold’s humor was until seeing it in the delete scenes, it’s eye rolling. Now he is far more of a badass. Great Job.

Blade 3: Behead the King Edition is on par with Uncanny Antman’s Terminator 3: The Coming Storm in terms of quality and overall ability to boost an awful, awful film to more than watchable status. To call Blade: Trinity a bad movie is an insult to bad movies. The ultimate example of a sequel “phoning it in,” it made a very strong argument for David S. Goyer to stick with writing. Introducing two annoying new sidekicks into the mix only complicated the terrible one-liners and silly action sequences. This was made all the more apparent by following up Guillermo del Toro’s masterful Blade II, which was an excercise in superior popcorn filmmaking. Goyer tried to capture a lot of the pizzaz of the first two films but failed by piling on way too much unfunny humor. Luckily for us, the CBB Group was kind enough to excise 99% of these lamer than lame jokes and allow us to focus on the action. Still, they can only do so much and the film still ends up being, by far, the weakest of the trilogy. There’s still too much flash and ridiculously silly moments, like Blade driving his car out of big rig onto the highway and the entire beginning fight scene, for that matter. But, you can only work with what you’re given and I can say, without a doubt, that this is the best version of Blade: Trinity that you will ever see without remaking the entire movie. CBB needs to be congratulated just for their ability to make this movie watchable and entertaining. In fact, I could even see myself watching this movie again (as part of a Blade marathon, of course). The best part of the DVD though is the hilarious bonus feature that features all of Hannibal King’s groan-inducing jokes. It’ll make you appreciate what these guys were able to do even more than just watching the film. Another great edit by CBB. These guys are in a class by themselves.

Just download it and burnt it to take a superficial look at it, and I must say that it really looks promising. I’m new at this place and I already love it. Love the work you (I mean faneditors in general) do.
Though being a movie with a dark background during almost all the film, quality left something to be desired. Please, bear in mind that what I’m gonna say is with respect and no intention to flame. But I consider you artists, so I can’t understand that this movie, without all the whistles, just has 3GB, making the quality resent it. It should have deserved a DL DVD or just the Enbglish language (and English is not my natural language and without subs I can’t understand an English movie… in fact, there are many movies I’m interested here, but having no subs, I don’t download) and the rest of subtitles. With the work it takes to finish all rhese great edits, the final product should reflect that effort with the quality it deserves. Besides, you don’t even have to spend 1$/€ or more for a DL DVD. You always can split the movie and the extras in 2 DVDs… we’re talking 30 cents, no more.
Again my congrats for the work on this edit and peace to all

I will not at all join in on the very tedious quality discussion. This fanedit was created with all care for quality. I hope your next comment will be about the fanedit and not about your individual preferences for file sizes. If you don’t like it, don’t download it, don’t watch it. If you want to give it a fair chance for what it is: be my guest.

Don’t know what I did or said to deserve such an acid or aggressive comment. I liked it (my comment that it was superficial was because I couldn’t see it all) and I’m working on a Spanish sub after ripping what you included to add it to the movie and see it. But I stick to my comment that the quality, for all the work dedicated, could be better. It’s not my intention to open a discussion and regret that you consider it tedious.
And what I said was true, I respect the work dedicated and edit.

hi. i just wanna say that i’m a big blade fan and i couldnt even finish watching blade trinity when i rented it for the first time.
i was so pissed at the anoying ass jokes. thanks to the creator of “behead the king edition” it’s now watchable! i think this is about the best example of the magic a fans edit can bring.
i also like the extras where they show all the lame ass jokes dat were removed.
i give this a perfect 10. thank you so much from a blade fan!!

awesome! as a viewer, you usually have to GIVE a little while watching movies including vampires and werewolves, etc. due to the film makers demand for horrific cheesiness to be prominent in their movie. well, not any more (mostly). the “behead the king” edition sets out (like many fan edits before) to make a more serious movie out of a dud – turd polishing is a great phrase that comes to mind – and this edit does NOT disappoint.
as usual with CBB, technical aspects of this edit are great and really puts you at ease to just *enjoy* a movie as we all know it SHOULD have been. thanks, boon!

This was excellent. It is sooo much better. Thanks a lot!
Some of it could feel a little off, but the amount of which this movie improved warrants a 9/10 rating.

I could not believe what a steaming turd pile Blade 3 was! Man, that was some of the worst dialogue I think I have seen in a big budget summer flick. I thought that I would only have the first two movies in my collection after I threw out Trinity but thanks to you, I can now have the trilogy complete. The cuts were well done and the sound and video quality were excellent. I was really impressed with the menu’s. Made it feel like I bought a studio dvd.
All in all, I give the overall product a 5/5.

Just saw it!
This edit was AWESOME! I can’t believe how great it is! I saw “Old Habits Die Hard” and thought it was a pretty good edit, then I saw “T3:The Coming Storm” and thought it was amazing, but THIS… THIS IS INCREDIBLE! All the scenes and jokes that were unnecessary are GONE! You just can’t imagine how happy I am right now! I’ve seen the original, like, 50 times (I’m kind of a Blade fan) and I’ve always thought about how cool it would be to move the crap out of this movie. And these guys did it! It’s amazing!
There were two scenes I was really worried about (the “Vampire Store” scene and the scene where Dr. Vance is talking to Blade about his mother and believing in vampires and stuff ) but they were edited nicely and all the little bad things were gone. Removing Ryan’s lame jokes really helped. I love Ryan Reynolds, I think he’s great and has a great sense of humor, but in this movie I think he should have kept his mouth shut and kicked more ass.
The video quality could have been a little bit better, but the sound is great! I will be putting this one in to my DVD collection for sure. As of right now – this is my favourite fan-edit!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! And keep up the good work!
(BTW I’m sorry if there are some spelling mistakes. English isn’t my native language.)

I hate the Blade 3 movie – it’s one of the worst I’ve ever seen – the fact you edited this to be watch-able, should win you a nobel prize.
10/10
Review by Checker222 — June 9, 2010 @ 7:08 am
Not as huge a fan of this edit as others. I hate Blade Trinity, and this one is a lot more watchable, but I still can’t watch it without having gripes.
+ The first half is great, it feels a lot like the first Blade
+ Hannibal King is cut a lot. A little too much imo, especially at the end. His fight scene is more entertaining than Jessica Biel, who is just not believable as a fighter, no matter what her physique is.
– I wish the exposition on the weapons was gone. Too much like a video-game for me,
– Dracula still annoying as ever.
As much as its great that Ryan Reynolds was cut down, it doesn’t fix the movie alone. The other biggest fault of the movie was Dracula. He’s basically a European fashion model. He should have been cut down as well, so he seems more mysterious or menacing. “Mutha Fucka…I like that.” Ugh.
7/10
Review by asocialjester — June 12, 2010 @ 9:08 pm
I was thoroughly unimpressed by this fan edit. I don’t remember all of my original issues since I no longer have this edition and I last watched it a few months ago, but I’ll do what I can to list them.
I’ll start with the positives, mainly being the removal of the stupid crap jokes that littered the original movie. Which is really the best part of the edit.
The bad: the added “score elements” in a few scenes I felt were cringe-worthy and amateurish, such as how NIN’s Closer starts playing in one scene to cover up the rap song being played from the SUV, but it is so forced and horrible I started laughing in disbelief that something like that would be even considered “good”. The other added songs weren’t as bad, but still forced and out of place, and I think the original music in those scenes fit much better. There were also a few bits of stupid dialogue that still needed to be cut (one in particular, Reynold’s character mentions the Darkstalker name near the end of the movie even though all references to their group name were supposed to be removed). Some edits I felt weren’t necessary at all and left empty, hollow scenes which didn’t need to be like that.
And the big one, for me, was the ending, which was completely FUBAR’d by the edits. And this is the part I wish I wrote down, because I can’t remember all the details, so I admit I may be incorrect on this. When Dracula dies, he takes the form of Blade as his honorable “parting gift” to trick the authorities so Blade can escape, although it isn’t 100% clear that this happens, you can see Dracula-as-Blade when the camera pans away from the battle scene and the “Blade” body isn’t wearing the same clothes as the fight, it has Dracula’s clothes, and there is only one body there. But during the autopsy, the “Blade” body they have actually is the REAL Blade who gets up and escapes, instead of the other ending where the body changes shape back to Dracula. The edit list says ‘changed the ending to Dracula staying in the shape of Blade’. So does this mean that Blade died and Dracula takes his form from now on? Or now there are two “Blades”, one good and one evil, lurking the cities? It’s unclear, and feels like one of those ‘let’s edit this because we can’ sort of things. The original ending was fine as is and did not need this mish-mash of ideas made just for the sake of editing.
Overall, I wish the edit stuck to just getting rid of the shit dialogue and did not have other edits. In the end, I prefer the original to this edit, because at least the original, as flawed as it is, didn’t have so many nonsensical issues.
