I think there is a slight problem with this cut - since You deleted Mickey Rourke's scenes we don't know who he is, but Creasy however, recognizes the name immediately and knows he is Ramos' lawyer. At that point we have no idea how he knows that. Maybe You should have left at least the scene where he meets him.
On the other hand when I watched the theatrical cut I was very disappointed with the ending. The alternate ending that You used really gives a closure to the strory. I didn't notice any editing problems during the movie, but I think You should have left the original title sequence. I wasn't able to find subtitles for the spanish-speaking parts, I watched the dvdrip and not the dvd, but since You gave us the option to watch this in Xvid we should only have subs. This was of course not that bad, since the lines in spanish are quite few and one basically gets the idea what has been discussed. The video was also pretty good, especially for the small size, the audio was clear.
Overall a nice cut, I enjoyed it definitely more than the original film and if I am not mistaken this is the basic idea of fan-edits, to improve the viewing experience for audiences who were let down by the original and give them the chance to finally appreciate it.

This is a great fanedit. I finally got to see it last night with my wife and we were both very impressed. The new ending is done VERY well. When I first watched the theatrical cut of this I actually fell asleep right around the point that Creasy dies in the car and I just felt that that summed it up for me. Creasy died from the boredom of the ending. This new ending is SO much better and for me now, THE ending. As for the rest of the edit, it all works wonderfully, with only one or two spots where I became aware (not in a bad way) of edits being made. I also liked that Pita's mother is in this less, she really was quite annoying to me. I have to give this 9/10.

This is a great fan edit.
What a great idea it was to remove the scenes without Creasy.
It is alot more engaging, not to mention faster paced than the original.

I hadn't read up on the cuts made so I was expecting Pita to be returned. So I was disappointed that she wasn't. It was a great, unexpected, twist in the original that she was actually alive and it left me feeling really good.
I like that he didn't just die in the car ride so it is a better finale but still, it would have been better, for me at least, to have kept Pita alive. Sometimes, cuts that make sense logically don't agree with the what the heart wants.

I highly recommend this to anybody who enjoys a good old fashioned, action packed revenge movie, without a doubt.
I really did enjoyed to ride!

wow! EASILY my favorite CBB fanedit and one of my favorites period.

technical quality is perfect and the perspective change (as well as some HEFTY story element changes) make this visually impaired (schizo) flick a payback-esque thriller (of course you have to take out the asshole and put in the "denzel" protaganist :) ).

everything is a 5/5. if there was a special 6/5 button i'd be using that. but i can't. so it's a 5.

Is anyone else having trouble with the links? The first part works fine but the second part never downloads. It just opens a second window and the status bar keeps going up, but you're never given an option to save the file. All the other files bring up a second window with a bunch of gibberish and, once again, the status bar keeps going up without giving you the option to save the file. It could just be my computer but the I've never experienced this problem before and I've since gone on to download The Matrix: deZIONized without problem.

comments:

by ABUAMAR (on piratebay.org): well a few things. first, would someone please seed this thing with my thanks in advance for your seed time. 2nd, your perception of the movie was way darker than mine. i thought killing all those guys was good, as creasy says, "forgiveness is the lords business - my job is to arrange the meeting" remember at this time he still thought peta had been killed. also, if he had read the original 1980 book from which the screenplay was written he would have assumed she was dead because she dies in the book - while he lives. but you are right it would be impolitic for hollywood to kill dakota fanning.

also, since no one knew about the money but creasy, peta's mom, and the female reporter, i figured it would remain undiscovered. especially since no one is gonna want to hear about all the corruption of the fuentes "los hermandan" crew. and peta's father comitted suicide, but somehow it seems there will be no shortage of eligible men lining up to be petas' stepfather. soooo, anyway, i am looking forward to watching your version, (although for the life of me i am not sure how you can delete the kidnap scene) if someone will seed it and i can get the last 16% of the file. btw, thanks for all your work and the things you do. it is folks like you that help to make the torrent world really interesting. thanks for everything.

by Peter von Frosta: I must say that I was pretty impressed with the EDIT. After I was a little preoccupied after I watched deZIONized, because I just knew it was different and I thought about "oh this has changed and this and that" all the time, I watched CREASY before Man on Fire. To be hones, I didn't watch Man on Fire till today, I guess it'll become another dust-catcher on my shelf then (I do own the original, just to be clear on that!).
I never felt that there was something missing. But, a few times during the movie, that something about this felt familiar. You used a few music cues from "The Island", didn't you? I just love this soundtrack (by the way, there is a copy of the soundtrack enclosed in the german steelbook of "Die Insel", highly recommended, I just love the music!).

The only thing I noticed, that was a little bit strange, were actually two things.
On thing is, you created a little continuity error. When Peta is in the swimming tournament, the nun says to Creasy, that today he would be her father (because Peta's parents were out of town). This was a little awkward, because her parents gave Peta the dog just a few moments ago. You should have moved the scene after the contest, so that it would seem that they bought the dog as a present for winning the contest.
The other thing was the title sequence. But it was not really your mistake. I just didn't think at that moment, that Ridley would use some of the music-video techniques, we are introduced to later. Now I think it really fits the movie, but when I watched it, I wasn't prepared for that.

A really nice touch were the additional subtitles you did. They complimented the already existing onscreen textcrawls (don't know how to describe this, I never encountered this before).

Of course you could tell, that the ending was edited. You used music from "The Island" (which fit very well into the movie btw), and the video quality shifted, because you used the alternate ending.
I just have one question about your ending:
How did you get the idea, of putting the conversation about Creasy's children at the end of the movie? I thought this was a perfect afterthought, were did the conversation originally took place?

I also watched the original ending, because I was a little but curious. Man, that was a letdown. The girl survived? What did Tony think when he did it? He shouldn't do less cocaine.
And also, the original ending was kind of boring. After the more fast paced manhunt scenes, this was just so slow and didn't fit the rythm of the movie. Also Creasy just dies, in the car. I mean we are introduced to the "mastermind" of the movie and then Creasy doesn't kill the sucker? Booh!

Creasy really shows how a movie can be changed through editing. Good work!
