This is a film I liked already but adding the cut scenes gave it more of a creepy edge which it should have seeing as how it’s about a ritualistic masonic serial killer. The Shanghai opium den definitely gave the ending a different flavour. I suppose the original ending with Sgt Godley placing the coins for the ferryman is more ‘Hollywood’, but it was good to see that Abberline had travelled and grown old enough to have white hair. All in all, a damn good film made even better.

I am an extended edition buff and have a big collection of original ones and all the fanedits from here.
Many extended editions do not add anything to the movie, just add more useless scenes. I will rate the ones here.
