I must admit I expected more from this fanedit. I hoped there would be more scenes from The Beginning, I wanted to see the remake and the prequel being merged together. However, I was cheated by my own expectations. I liked the remake the way it is. The narration, while good, wasn't so important to the story. Showing how R. Lee Ermee became sheriff Hoyt on the other hand was the best part in The Beginning and You included it, which I think is a great addition to an already flawless (imho) film.
While the video quality is not the best I've seen, it is consistent throughout and is pretty watchable, I didn't notice problems with the audio either. I am in fact spoiled by watching mostly HD/BR movies lately. Although not on par with new dvdrip releases, I can't complain about it, n'or did I notice any editing problems whatsoever. The inserts and cuts looked seamless to me.
This is only a suggestion, but how about an edit starting with the beginning and then the reamke, both being trimmed for timing reasons of course. That would show more of Hoyt's sadistism and the family doing their deeds through the years, with Erin finally being able to escape, thus the only survivor and putting an end to this. Judging by what I saw I am positive You could make it work.
Overall I find this edit to be an improvement over the original film; me being a somewhat disappointed is definitely not the editor's fault. All being said the only possible rating I can give this edit is 10/10. Keep up the good work.

that is a pretty harsh rating (2 stars) actually and I for one cannot understand what you can like about the originals.
You only had a problem with 2 scenes? Well, let me explain, although it's really not necessary:
Andy is hanging from the top, he is bleeding heavily, because he has a hook in his back. Erin approaches him and tries to lift him up (that's where she gets all the blood) and fails. The hooks gets deeper into his back. And because she is not strong enough, she says that she is sorry. I don't know, how you could have missed that.
The escape scene works like that. They are in the basement and it does have the extra exit. The only thing I cut from that was the kid Jeddadiah, who was in the original leading them.
Sorry you did not like it, but I think your comment and rating are bit too hard.

I'm a fan of the remakes and this edit just didn't feel that good.
The edit looked real good, but I feel their is a way of including more of the Beginning in the edit.
I only had a problem with 2 edited scenes: The none stabbing of Andy, but then we hear and see Erin saying plz forgive me and she has blood all splattered all over her. And just before that their was nothing on her upper body. The 2nd scene of Erin & Morgan in the basement and then Leatherface comes running down stairs and then we see them finding a way out. I know their was only so much to work with in those 2 scenes. But they bothered me the most.
This edit was a good one time watch, but I will stick with the originals.

by JULEZ SANTANA on Demonoid:
Thanks, I'm a big fan of horror films and I always knew that I should have liked this movie more. There was just certain stuff I didn't think was that great. I think this edit from the CBB GROUP might help me out. I look forward to the CBB GROUP fanedit of pulp fiction also. Keep me posted. I hope more scenes are added instead of taken out. And my favorite CBB release so far is Absolutely Unbreakable. That fanedit was Absolutely Perfect.

by MONKEYMOOK on demonoid:
I just got finished watching this fanedit. Amazing. It has so much less filler crap, and makes way more sense. Will be seeding this for a long time. Very nice work. Why don't you guys go work for a movie company? I'm sure this would save so much more time, so we don't have to wait for them to make the sucky movies, for you guys to make them better.
