  1. Is the Yoda landing on Dagobah scene in this cut?

  2. Nope.

  3. Not nearly enough editing was done to this movie to enhance the plot and remove painful scenes for my taste, but it is a clean edit with lots of little mini improvements made here and there. Some horrible dialogue cut but some left in like, “I have the high ground.” Video quality is good. Yoda fight scene is in which I admit I secretly enjoy, although I do very much enjoy the ending in alternate edits where it is removed and the closing scenes are much more condensed. There is nothing in the last 20 minutes of the original movie that couldn’t be wrapped up in about 5.

After having now watched a few different edits of this movie in my attempt to find the perfect version, you deserve credit for choosing wisely regarding the extended scenes you chose to add and not add. Qui Gon’s voiceovers came as a surprise. I personally thought it was a nice touch. It gives Yoda an out of the situation vs. fighting to the death, which is more what I would expect Yoda to do in that situation when there is that much at stake. It also ties into the speech about communing with the dead at the end (although personally I would have completely edited that scene since it makes no sense that that would be some fancy jedi power considering that Luke is able to do it instantly after Obi Wan dies.

  4. One more important thing I failed to say about this edit. I don’t believe anybody will find any egregious changes made in this that will upset the viewer any worse than watching the original edit from George Lucas, which is not something I can say about any of the other re-edits I have watched thus far. I desperately wish more had been cut. Of the few changes made, however, they are all for the better and none for the worse, and no changes have any impact on the continuity with the other movies. It is because of this that this is the first edit of ROTS I have seen that I can safely recommend to others as a substitute for the original.
