I haven’t seen the original in quite some time but I remember thinking that having all this background on Michael was a bad move.
So I had enjoyed the second half more than the first, in the original.
But in this version, the first half totally out classes the second half.
That was true horror. That kid could really act.
In the second half, just like in the RZ original, Michael isn’t as ruthless as he should be. He lets Loomis live, had kid gloves with Laurie, and what’s up with showing Laurie that old photo? He had all those years with Loomis to dig up old feelings. The real MM would have killed Laurie right away.

Anyway, the movie is much improved and not much could be done with the second half.

A great edit would be to just have the first half and end it after the disappearing fork trick, when the camera freezes on Michaels insane expression.
Or, call me crazy, use that as the beginning of Carpenter’s original.

I Like this fanedit over any of the original crap they gave us. After seeing rob zombie’s I was upset. Then I watched it recently and felt it was alright, then I watched this fanedit and was impressed. Great job. I liked how you tied it all together and didnt hurt anything on the way. I also liked the ending. then the credits started and luckly I watched them and the original ending started. This edit will be the only way I watch Zombies Halloween.

scary? um. YES. i’ve enjoyed all of 3Razor’s “scary as hell editions” and this is no exception. the pacing and story elements really benefit from ALL of your editing decisions. michael kind of turns into a psychopathic version of the big dumb killer from stray dogs, doesn’t he? i made the connection anyways…

i actually wasn’t annoyed at all by how the ending was handled. i think it worked well and gives the viewer the option of accepting whichever ending they choose.

what i missed from your edit was a bit more of danny trejo’s character. i think removing a lot of his interaction with michael makes his death a lot less horrific. the audience doesn’t connect with him all that much here. as the doctor is a pretty huge character, i think adding a few more of his interaction with michael would work better.

great technical quality, and great entertainment. one of the few times i actually round UP from a 4.5/5

I watched this last night, and overall awesome job. The technical skill you have here is great. Picture was nice, audio was nice, and there were no hard cuts of either. DVD setup was great too. I wanted to give this a 5, but I didnt really like how you handled the ending at all. I found the explanation credits after the faux ending was a bit laborious to go through. I already got this information from your info. Also, I dont really like the extra house ending, seems over the top to me. So I was a bit taken out of the experience for the ending. However, the rest of the edit was fantastic. Great job. Keep on editing please!!! Final rating: 4 out of 5 for me. Thanks 3raz0r!

This edit is really good!

The pacing is better than the Theatrical Cut and the Director’s Cut. One thing that pleased me about the Directors’ Cut was that it restored the death of that Hick who fucked Mikeys room up. I preferred that he died because he was a vile character…the rape scene isn’t as harrowing as most people made it but it was justified..in my eyes…with him getting his skull bashed to shit…the workprint didnt have Ishmael die….then it’s still in there! really pissed me off. Still in this version too…i’d have taken that out and let him retire because i liked him and just left in the other security guards and escape scene.

I prefer the scenes you added. Very believable flow to this version. The only thing i don’t like is the fake “haha” ending you added. It’s off putting and ruins the flow of the ending…if you preferred the movie to end there you should have just taken out the house part and left him dead in the pool. It wouldn’t ahve bothered me if you just cut to credits there….Too self indulgent if you ask me. I wouldn’t do that in future. But that’s just me.

Overall Brilliant work. Job well done.

I realy like this version cause it takes away the nice side of michael, his mom is a bit of a bitch,& i thought the ecaspe & graveyard scene should have been in there in zombies version. Well done 3razor on this fanedit u should be proud of yourself for such a better film.
