FFTSW has some interesting concepts, but the flat attempts at humor and cliched romance made the movie drag. All the mumbo-jumbo about spirits and phantoms didn’t help either. This edit trims some of the subplots so the main story progresses at a quicker pace. Less dream sequences, cheesy one-liners, and convoluted dialogue makes it a more straight-forward, action-oriented sci-fi movie.

INTENTION:
FFTSW has some interesting concepts, but the flat attempts at humor and cliched romance made the movie drag. All the mumbo-jumbo about spirits and phantoms didn’t help either. This edit trims some of the subplots so the main story progresses at a quicker pace. Less dream sequences, cheesy one-liners, and convoluted dialogue makes it a more straight-forward, action-oriented sci-fi movie.

Remove some of the cheesy humor and redundant exposition about the spirits.

- Removed fourth dream sequence (how many dream sequences do we need?)
- Trimmed fifth dream sequence.
- Removed Gen. Hein and Maj. Elliot talk in hallway.
- Removed Gen. Hein talking about wife and daughter.
- Removed random people getting killed by phantoms.
- Removed some of Neil’s one liners.
- Sped up Gray’s jump in slow motion.
- Removed Aki and Gray consoling each other.
- Removed Gen. Hein about to commit suicide.
- Removed Gen. Hein reconfiguring Zeus system.
- Replaced ending song.
- Several other minor edits for better pacing.
