  1. Hell yea! Give me more Close Encounters! I love extendedness – and this has it all. Love Close Encounters and this is the longest version ever. Good. Good. So, the scenes aren’t up to scratch…who cares? ADM tells us that to start with. ADM – you ARE my top rated FE after your Blade Runner and Dune edits…..

  2. I am an extended edition buff and have a big collection of original ones and all the fanedits from here.
    Many extended editions do not add anything to the movie, just add more useless scenes. I will rate the ones here.
    Rating criteria: image quality, sound quality, 3x improvement, overall.
    Image Quality: 5 of 10
    Sound Quality: 7 of 10
    Improvement: 3 of 10
    Overall: 4 of 10

  3. it is what it is, the longest possible version of ce3k. editing is seamless except for the previously mentioned low quality scenes. I love this film and its excellent to have a complete version to accompany the ultimate edition bluray. Thanks ADM.

  4. Love it, love it, love it.

    didnt see the fourth kind but chose the 5th kind cos i wanted to see it all! awesome great presentation this is my favorite version of a great film! I dont care that picture quality isnt consistant all the way thru – infact i kinda like it :)

    overall 10/10
