Conceptual improvements/advancements of edit over original:
Because he is such a bad actor and his role was rather distracting than supporting the atmosphere, we reduced William baldwin’s part of Joe Hurley to a minimum, he is just a participating friend, but he has no death experience, nor is his sinful life of any interest. This adds a lot to the overall atmosphere, which becomes darker and tighter.

Thanks for getting rid of that Baldwin death. This is an even better movie now.

9 Stars, one of the best fan edits I have seen.
I have not gotten around to seeing Flatliners before this, so I was able to come in with a fresh perspective. Not only would I never have known that Joe had a death experience, but even knowing you cut that… I was unable to figure out where in the film this would have occurred. Indeed the only sign I could detect of missing scenes were occasionally zoomed scenes that hinted a character was being cut out of the frame. After watching the special feature on Joe’s death (which was well done, and I really thank you for including that), I can see that those scenes were even more useless and boring than I would have ever expected.
DVD menus were quite nice, and the presentation was great.

Flatliners. I so loved this movie when it was in the cinema. Watchign it on DVD years later revealed so many weaknesses, but this version makes it an awesome movie again. Thank you, CBB. Who would have thought that Schumacher could make such a good movie?

When this movie hit HBO, Showtime etc – it was played ALL THE TIME. So much so, that I could not bear watching for years afterward. When I watched this edit, it was the first time I had watch “Flatliners” in 10 years. This edit is great, CBB has created a great movie that i will watch in years to come. he successfully edited out a lot of “UGH” parts of the movie, with great skill, without hurting the plot or development of the characters. I ALWAYS hated (yes, strong word) the Baldwin character in the movie and now CBB has edit him to be a very tertiary character.
Excellent job. (My girlfriend is much more the horror fan than i am. she loved this edit. When she is happy … the I AM HAPPY !!!!
