The 1st Annual FE Awards

These are the fanedit awards for the best fanedits created in 2008.

Our 86 approved faneditors were the jury for this great event. And they placed their fair votes for the following CATEGORIES:

1. Best true fanedit  (contains all the monthly contest winners)

2. Best extended edition (contains the most successful extended editions)

3. Best special edition (contains the most succesful special editions)

4. Best cover artist (the artist must have created at least 3 covers)

5. Best fanditor (the faneditor must have created at least 2 successful fanedits)

The voting weeks were exciting and for a long time it was unclear, who would win. In some categories the decision was obviously easy, but in others it was a tough fight until the final hours. And to really present you an event, we will NOT list the winners for several days, but give you a fantastic PODCAST, featuring a bunch of great and well known people from the fanedit community, who do the announcing as well as the winning speeches of all winners (except one, who was not able to get a working microphone).

  1. Great idea. Too bad one of my favorite faneditors, the “immortal” ADigitalMan, has been “absent” from the fanedit scene, i wish he could’ve been able to participate in this event – maybe he can be hooked up with an “honorable mention” or “career award” for his amazing body of work, though…
    Awesome to see the fanedit scene always evolving because, trust me, everyone i speak to about fanedits gets hooked, it’s just a question of spreading the word.

  3. Just finished listening to the (awesome) podcast. Great show! Congratulations to all the winners and nominees, all fanedit fans are winners, though. Keep up the awesome work, and i look forward to many new and exciting work and discussions by the community. Good to see ADigitalMan being recognised by his awesome work. Cheers.

  4. A big congratulations to all the winners. The standard is so high now it’s great there’s so many worthy people that can be nomitated.

    Also, great podcast guys. It’s nice to know that even though we come from all corners of the globe that we seem to share the same sarcastic sense of humour.

    I also loved the fact Fanedit.org manage to rope in Prof Stephen Hawkins to present the awards…. but did he really have to present it at the bottom of his swimming pool ;)

  5. Wow! That was amazing, Guys! Really, really well done! Elbarto did a great job putting it together! It makes the community seem more “real” in a way and makes me very proud to be a part of it. Congratulations to all the winners!!!!
