Conceptual improvements/advancements of edit over original:
This edit is cut together to seem darker, more sci-fi noir-ish like “The Matrix” or Alex Proyas’ earlier films. Most of Farber’s (street kid) scenes are cut out because the character didn’t really have a purpose besides being the comic relief. I left him in the robot battle scene, but he has no scenes with Spooner. I took part of Lanning’s monologue and added it to the the montage ending to make it seem as if Dr. Lanning gave Sonny free will and the ability to feel and Sonny chose to side with VIKI. Lanning left it up to Sonny to determine the fate of mankind; hope that makes sense. Really couldn’t do much about Spooner’s power walking.

This is the first fanedit I downloaded and watched. Overall, I’d say it is a much better film than the theatrical release. I only had two issues:
1. The ending seemed very sudden. Maybe this is because I already knew the theatrical ending or maybe not…I don’t know. I think if you had done a fade to black on that last shot of Sonny and then faded up to the voice-over coda it would have been a better transition. The darker ending is OK. Kinda left me wanting more, but then I know you only have so much to work with.
2. More of the Will Smith jokes could have been cut. I know you cut some out already, but I would have cut even harder. (Admittedly, I have a deep, DEEP dislike of Will Smith, so less is always more in my book.)
Nevertheless, thanks for the edit!

this edit works well and IS an improvement on the original. a lot of the “Will Smith-ness” is reduced here and without that dumb kid this lifts the movie out of flirting with corny and back into a fun sci-fi action adventure.
