For a let-down film of this magnitude more severe measures are necessary. However, this edit does excise the more frustrating elements of The Phantom Menace nicely, such as Jar Jar's incessant scatological antics. But some of the more annoying elements of the film remain intact, such as the Naboo pilot's pointless expository dialogue which earned him the nick-name "Captain Obvious" ("There's the blockade!", "That little droid did it!", "The entire planet is one big city", "There it is, Tatooine" etc.). The young Anakin Skywalker's running commentary on the space battle of Naboo is also still present, even if his childish "oopsie" lines are removed, it's still annoying.
