  1. I just finished watching this, I must say you did a superb job on it. I noticed some audio & video hiccups during it (four, by my count), but seeing as I watched v2.0 there shouldn’t be any hiccups, so I’ll just attribute those errors to problems caused by my disc and/or DVD player. If there’s a couple things I could nitpick on, they would be that the transition from Reloaded to Revolutions came off somewhat “jumpy”, and that the ending of the feature had an unnatural transition from the scene of Neo being carried away to the Oracle & Architect’s conversation in the park. Overall, though, this is a very good edit and I look forward to watching it with friends to see what they think about it.

  2. A brave effort to compress two incredibly bulky movies into something more approachable. There were a few audio and visual problems, most noticeable during the cut between Reloaded and Revolutions, but otherwise this is some excellent work.

The main drawback comes from the sheer volume of story to work with. There is no way to trim these two movies down to anything less than three hours without the overall story suffering badly. This is not the fault of the editor, merely a drawback of the bloated nature of the source material, which was just to damn complicated for its own good.

  3. I can only echo what is said above – there are a few audio and visual problems that should be rectified as they reveal this to be a fan edit – but well done on your attempt – I think you have largely achieved your goal.

  4. I liked some the little snippets and cuts that were made. No Zion rave party, no pointless Sariph fight, toning down the Merovingian’s dialogue, no pointless kiss scene, the architects’ lines were cut down, as well as the entire plot point that there have been other “ones”. Revolutions was trimmed down considerably, just enough of the story so there’s no gaps. It’s amazing how cutting out a lot of the dialogue makes these movies more watchable. I would’ve taken it a step further though and trimmed out even more. Bring these characters back to their roots from the first movie where they hardly spoke at all. The way they acted as silent killers in the lobby scene, that’s how they should be in these movies as well. It would certainly feel like the tone of the first film.

Anyway, I’ve seen 3 different fan edits of these movies now (Dezionized, Squared, and yours) and there’s things I like and dislike about both. The one thing I definitely like about yours though is that it’s the shortest one, and it takes out more of the pointless characters and focuses more on the central ones.

  5. My mistake, I meant to say I’ve seen Dezioned, Evolutions, and yours.

  6. I have read quite a lot about this on a Matrix forum and found the idea impressing. But the overall execution did not satisfy me. This fanedit felt torn to me and I could not get in it as much as I wanted to. There are some bad cuts that also lower the experience. The cutting choices are ok, but I think the “re-linked” and “rivals” versions are the better trims.
