First off I apologize for posting these somewhat negative comments, I usually just give a star rating of the fanedits I watch; and in this case I was asked to explain my rating for this release.

In my personal opinion, while this edit is technically quite well done with almost seamless cuts and transitions; the entertaining value it provided for was me quite low, the main story thread taken from the first movie is presented in a somewhat rushed pace, and I kept wondering if having a little bit more of character screen time could have helped.

And then when the scenes from the sequels started to roll the whole thing became something that i could not make any sense of, the rushing i felt before was nothing compared and I wasn't able to find a story thread anywhere... this latter part really put my mind in a bad mood which resulted in a bad experience overall in this watch.

I think that perhaps this could have worked better for me if only the first movie had been edited, and provide a better paced less silly movie that the original; and with any kind of ending the editor wanted to express.

Again, I do not mean to be a pain in the rear end here, just trying to convey my honest thoughts and feelings about this edit, I hope that the people who keep track of these things find it useful.

I think it is a good effort on a promising series of movies that was so deeply flawed from the very beginning. While not done perfectly I still enjoyed this version quite a lot. Thank you, Mollo.

I liked it much more than the original film. The new ending was a very good idea, but it seemed very disjointed to me.

Original film: 4/5
Technical: 5/5
Entertainment: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

I think it does what can be done to the flawed franchise. I enjoyed it. 8 stars.

I haven't seen the original Species in quite some time. I don't remember a lot of what was cut and I didn't particularly miss most of it. My question was mostly "why?" was it cut. I agree with TMBTM's review that a lot of the character exposition is now lost in favor of a "Go go go!" style narrative. I don't know that this is bad, but I do wish some of the material hadn't been cut. As far as the new opening sequence goes I applaud the effort, but to me it seemed a stylistic mismatch to the rest of the film. Also, the footage taken from I believe Pelican Brief when Sil escapes and the hotel room explodes is a clear mismatch. That is quite obviously NOT Los Angeles. In the FanEditor's defense, however, the shot (mostly) successfully communicates what is needed and, while the image is considerably grittier and grainier than the Species image, the audio is fairly seamless. Dug the intention of the new ending... sort of. But it didn't really flow for me and it didn't create a new point or meaning--just kind of a "BOOH!" sequel set-up.

Don't let this review get you down, Mollo. I really quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately the original film has a 3rd act so asinine that it just cannot be saved.

First of all sorry if my english is average:

Once more a great fanedit by Mollo!
I did not remember very well all the scenes of the original movie, so I can't judge all the work behind it but the reworked scenes worked good to me!
I just feel that the story arc of several characters went a bit nowhere after a certain scene . Okay Natasha is the "hero" of the story, but Michael Madsen's character looked a bit smarter at the begining of the movie than in the end, I wanted more of him. But I understand that Mollo's edit needed that, as well as short movie length, so it's okay.
The new ending scenes are great although the very last shot was not needed IMO, or maybe I missed a thing (?)
Anyway, a Mollo's edit is always great entertainement and I strongly recommend this one.
