Original film name: Spider-Man 3, The Hulk, X-Men The Last Stand, and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Film studio name: 20th Century Fox. Sony Pictures. Universal Studios.
Edit crew name: Uncanny Antman.
Original Film Released: Hulk (June 2003) X-Men The Last Stand (May 2006) Spider-Man 3 (May 2007) Fantastic Four 2 (June 2007)
Fan Edit Released: August 2008
Original Runtime: Uhhh, runtime was four movies long. …More or less. There’s a sliver or two of other films slipped in there as well. You’ll see what I mean.
New Runtime: 54 min
Amount of time Cut/Added: Aww man, I dunno. A lot.

Concept: It started as a joke…no wait, that was episode 3. This one started with me watching ep3 and just figuring it must have been fun to throw together. I spoke to ReMixed by Jorge to see what his feelings would be on me having a crack at it. After pitching my basic outline, he graciously gave me the green light. My basic approach was to set up everything needed for the climactic events of his episode, while still keeping the ep entertaining in its own right, and to have all the storylines make internal sense, even with the stripping down of extraneous details. I made sure to include all the information imparted in his “Previously On…” and had to try and make the Hulk section work in context with the revelation at the start of episode 3 that it was actually a dream sequence, but without giving it away here. There are clues though.

And then on top of all that, I just wanted it to be fun to watch. So I hope it is.

Oh, and you may notice that the 9am to 9pm timeframe overlaps with ep3’s 8pm to 8am…this was done so as to be able to include necessary story points, even though they took place after dark. Just go with it.

  1. Uncanny Antman is a master editor! This latest episode is faultless in its presentation. It is beautifully edited and the sound design is excellent. The action might be less frenetic and relentless than episode 1, but this in no way makes this episode any less entertaining. I really enjoyed this edit and Uncanny has certainly expanded the Marvel world with this episode.

I like the idea behind this series and I hope it continues!

  3. Sorry, but this didnt do it for me. Before I explain, I will say this, the technical know-how of this edit is top-notch. It was masterfully done, and is pulled off very professionally. Some very cool looking edits in it. Video and audio quality are perfect. DVD design is really cool. That said, thats where the praise for this stops for me. The first installment of the series (edited by Jorge) fell short for me. While it was also beautifully edited, the plot was thin, and I saw signs where it could have been tightened up for a really cool adventure. When I heard that UncannyAntman was taking the project up for an episode, my interest was peaked, and I thought surely that he would pick up where Jorge fell short. This was not the case though. While the edits may even be cooler, the plot is completely absent in this edit, and it was actually hard for me to keep watching. waiting, watching, waiting. Sorry, I think I will leave the Marvel24 idea here, and I can’t really recommend this to anyone.

  4. Ignore the last post. I thought you did a great job. Considering you used 4 different movies with completely different plots, the scenes ran together fairly well. Without calling up the actors and asking them to film a couple extra scenes, I think this was as good as it could’ve gotten. I look forward to seeing the first episode.

P.S. Loved the extra bonuses you added to the DVD on this.
