I like this edit. I can understand Boon's problem with the removal of the cop scenes. But to me the edit worked fine.
It's obvious through all the movie that the police is after him and the story is only centered around Douglas's character,
so it don't really matter what cop comes at the end to arrest him. So why not the cop we saw at the begining?
Sure we loose something from the original, and it don't make automaticaly this edit a better movie, but I liked Adabisi take on it.

I was never much of a fan of this movie and had not watched it in years. I decided to DL this fanedit and watch it. I enjoyed this version a lot more than I expected to. Technically, a great edit and fine quality - no issues at all.

After watching this edit, I decided to go DL the original from Netflix to my TiVO HD and watch it. I still had to fast-forward thru much of the original. I found that I was fast-forwarding thru the very parts that the fanedit had removed.

I still don't care much for the movie - either in it's original form or this edit - NOT because of Adabisi's effrots whatsoever. This movie is just a mediocre film and is flawed. I just can't see how any edit can really improve this movie to the point of me watching it ever again.

I will say, that this edit is immensly more watchable than the original. Well worth the DL and time to watch.

The removal of the Prendergast scenes made this for me an even stranger movie than it was before. Although his scenes were kind of dragging, I consider them the heart and soul of an otherwise very flawed movie, in which Joel Schumacher puts D-Fens through a mass of superficial show-off scenes. Prendergast appears in the beginning, he appears again out of nowhere at the end and mentions that he knows that D-Fens had been working for a rocket building industry. So I clearly got the impression that he was on the case. His entire speech in the end makes it appear as if he was not there by accident. So I think his scenes on the case were needed or were missing from the fanedit.
The D-Fens scene collection, where he terrorizes people, fights for what he calls freedom, kills "bad" guys are partially so over-the-top that it could be a satire, yet it isn't one, or if it is, it is not executed like one, because the movie does have a serious tone for the most of it.
So, by removing the only scenes that felt a bit "alive" and Prendergast appearance and speech in the end this has become for me an even more unfinished experience and left me very unsatisfied. This could have been a lot better I think, if it was better constructed and more thought through.

keeping the focus on bill really maximizes his journey. great edit. i agree with zeppelinrox's comments regarding social commentary - it stands out even more presented in this manner.

I loved this edit.
I've only seen this once before, I believe at the theatre, and forgot how much I love this movie.

It reminds me of Robocop's social commentary and Network's "I'm mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore" theme. Hell, the nazi in the basement reminded me of Pulp Fiction, which was released after this movie, if memory serves me correctly.

Editing, audio and video - it's all top notch.

The police investigation is not missed at all and makes for a great viewing experience.

The only nitpick is the presentation. No chapter menues - Just a static main menu with a Play button.

Overall 9/10

Thanks for this. This is what fanediting is all about!
