This was a valiant effort, and I applaud the work that went into this.
However, since so much time had to be removed due to the holodeck nonsense, this was more like a "sorry-it's-over-here's-something-to-send-it-off-with-what-we-wrote-last-night-on-cocktail-napkins".

Mind you, that's no fault of Insignia's. The source material was... 'lacking', to put it lightly.

Anyway, on to the details.

Technical quality: 6/10 with a +1 for effort.
Poor Jonathan Frakes was the bane of this edit in -so- many ways. Pan/Zoom to get him out of the shot degraded the quality a bit. Audio was tolerable for where this came from.

Editing quality: 7/10 with a +1 for effort.
There were some noticeable chops that could've been smoothed over with other ship/shuttle/planet external shots from different episodes, but that's just how I'd try to fill it in. Although, seeing as how I've only done five minute edits on youtube, take that with a grain of salt.

Presentation: N/A - avi

Entertainment: 8/10 - This was far better than what was presented on the air, even IF it was so short.

Overall: 7/10

before I review this edit, I feel it is important to state one thing first: I am not a "trekker" or a "trekkie". I absolutely love Star Trek; that is to say, most of the series and most of the movies. My enjoyment of Star Trek does not go beyond this (I don't read any star trek books, go to conventions collect memorabilia etc). I have always been objective enough to see that ALL the series have great, good and really bad episodes; and that at least half of the movies are barely watchable. Yes, I thought the 2009 "re-boot" movie was exactly what Star Trek needed.

Okay, I liked this series, "Enterprise". Certainly at the bottom of my list as Star Trek goes. so, I did not object to the original version of this episode. I actually thought it work well (as a Star Trek "Enterprise" episode goes). When I have watched this episode on my store-bought DVD set, I have often wondered two things: 1) what this episode would be like if it was edited together with the next generation episode "Pegasus" or 2) what this episode would be like with all the Riker, Troi and hohlodeck references removed.

Insignia34 has done just this. Although his editing is quick good, I just don't think the episode works as well as an "Enterprise" stand-alone episode. The episode now seems It's fine, but you can now see how poor the writing on "Enterprise" was most of the time. Not due to Insignia34's editing techniques, but due to the lack of material to work with after all the TNG stuff is removed - the episode now seems to run too quick, with not enough developement of the plot and the momumnetal speech by Capt archer at the end. . Insignia34's "changing the speed" didn't quite work for me.

Overall, a great attempt and I will keep this edit and watch it, but will more than likely stick with the original version.

Has anyone out there ever thought of edititng the next gen episode "Pegasus" and the original version of this edit together to form a "mini-movie"?
