Original Runtime : 89 Minutes
New Runtime : 113 Minutes
Amount of time Cut/Added : 24 Minutes
Cuts removed/added/extended :
*Twenty-Four minutes have been added to the “original theatrical” runtime.
*The gun fight between MacLeod and the guards at the shield corporation near the end of the film has been restored and color corrected. Why this particular sequence was taken out is bizarre. Now the flow of the movie is restored and not effected: Now we no longer just go from being on a mountain top looking down onto the shield straight into the shield core chamber where Macleod fights Katana. Anyone who may have not seen previous versions of this movie may have wondered ( by viewing the 2004 Special Edition) just how the hell they got back into the core chamber so easily in the first place.

The 4 DVD Box set ultimate edition cover notes a RESTORED AMERICAN CUT. This vesion was an effort to restore the American Cut of Highlaander II to its full theatrical release glory. A restoration of its video, audio, color elements, scratches, etc. has been painfully completed. A version of this film was released to TF1 video in France a few years back, therefore, this version can not be released with links on fanedit.org. Highlander II: RAC contains no added footage, deleted footage, alternate footage, etc. and is cosidered more of a preservation/ restoration attempt rather than a true fan edit.. The strict rules that fanedit.org has noted ust be upheld in order for us (all) to continue releasing FAN EDITS (with links) on these wonderful web pages. If you are interested in having the full 4 DISC ULTIMATE EDITION box set in order to complete you Highlander II collection, you may be able to find this edit if you search hard enough. (ie:Highlander II Restored American Cut) Fanedit.org has been gracious enough to leave the links to the boxset cover. Thank you fanedit.org

“enjoyment” is an idea not talked about often with HL2 (and for VERY unfortunate reasons
) but each of the Zeist fanedit/preservations are a fun experience. you’ll wonder EVEN MORE what the hell they were thinking, but these fanedit/preservations are thoroughly enjoyable by restoring the many sub-plots excised from the various cuts of the film.
editing 5/5
audio, video 3/5 (but this is a preservation!)
entertainment 11/5!!!
4/5
