  1. BigP on The Nightmare On Elm Street Anthology, Volume 1: Wow, excellent fanedit. Thanks for doing this! Finally get to see it uncut! , (this post has 7 comments)
  2. chancer127 on The Nightmare On Elm Street Anthology, Volume 1: This is a very 80’s horror movie, when I watched back in the day it had the desired effect, now its just a dated, poorly acted/directed/written movie with a dire 80’s soundtrack. This edit has highlight for me just how bad this movie really was. Of course this is just my opinion:-), (this post has 7 comments)
  3. zeppelinrox on Kong: I gave it a 9 out of 10. As usual, The Man delivers. I watched it with my son and he really liked how they hurry up and get on the island already, as did I. Jack Black seems to be even more annoying, but that’s probably his purpose in this movie anyway. As for getting Kong on the ship, I’m pretty sure it is never shown in the 1933 original or PJ’s version. I forget about the…, (this post has 5 comments)
  4. zeppelinrox on George A. Romero’s Diary Of The Dead: Extreme FanCut: Although some news footage inserted into the main story is distracting, it is still much better than the original Diary of the Dead. The only thing that really seems out of place is a couple of instances of fast moving zombies. Overall, the faster pace and no boring/crappy narration is a huge improvement over the original. I did kind of miss the blonde texan chick’s character development,…, (this post has 5 comments)
  5. zeppelinrox on AvP Outbreak: This review is for the Dual Layer DVD version Technically, video, audio quality and editing work is very good throughout. 10 Presentation is very good as well. -Motion menu with audio, 3 trailers and 48 minutes of deleted scenes. There is no chapter menu, but I rarely use that anyway. But still, it keeps it from getting a perfect presentation score. What’s nice is that the deleted scenes…, (this post has 1 comments)
  6. zeppelinrox on Fatal Attraction: Preview/Test Audience Version: Very well made edit. Video and audio quality is good and although I prefer the theatrical ending, this is entertaining as well. It isn’t as shocking, but just as fitting and it does contain some supsense as well – even if you guess correctly what happens. If you haven’t watched Fatal Attraction for awhile, it would be worth watching this instead – if only to view a…, (this post has 2 comments)
  7. joebshmoe on Wolf Dancer: really, really good. loved the axed narration and loss of journal entries. some nitpicking: i think some of the spivey removal (and explanation) is a bit much, tho… it would have been nice to have scenes of john USING the journal during the film so that his reason to retrieve it is more obvious,, (this post has 7 comments)
  8. flyboy707 on The Fellowship of the Ring: Remade: With such an extensive review posted by Boon23, I doubt that I can add anything to what he has already written. I would like to echo what Boon23 writes at the beginning of his review; I have never cared whether any of the myriad of LOTR fanedits are more closer to the books or not. (I have Kerr’s version and his updates and enjoyed all 6 “books”). I grew up reading LOTR and…, (this post has 2 comments)
  9. TV's Frink on RAIDERS OF THE KRYSTAL SKULL: Remixed by Jorge: This sucker surprised me a few times. First off, I had never watched a Jorge fanedit before, so I was very excited when this was announced. Since there was no real WIP thread, my expectations were simply a result of Jorge’s reputation. And then the reviews came in, and while there were some positives, it sounded like this was a disappointment. My expectations were dramatically reduced,…, (this post has 10 comments)
  10. boon23 on The Fellowship of the Ring: Remade: review by boon23 Prologue: There have been many LOTR fanedits since the movies were released. Many of them were not approved on fanedit.org for having huge flaws or truly bad image/audio quality. Then there are the famous purist/book cuts, which I never was a fan of, because what I have seen of them always destroyed the mood of the movies for me. I for one simply don’t care if it is…, (this post has 2 comments)
  11. chancer127 on Wrong Turn Home – Scary As Hell Edition: Just to add I have now watched the main feature, wrong turn, throughly enjoyed it, a much better watch then the cinema release, the ending when they return for the map was ok too, the way the garage owner shuts up shop when in sees the hillbilly truck arrive, a cool ending to a nasty film., (this post has 7 comments)
  12. Goremeister on Tranzor’s The Thing – late night tv edit: Ok, I love the crappy quality effect that was done to the film (pan & scan + print damage). I turned down the lights and watching this I felt like it was 30 years ago and I was a kid again staying up to watch something I wasn’t allowed to see. The only difference is it wasn’t 3 in the morning because I had work the next day. I enjoyed the way the editor cut out the bad words and…, (this post has 7 comments)
  13. chancer127 on Wrong Turn Home – Scary As Hell Edition: The Xfile ‘Home’ episode is excellent, i haven’t seen the unedited full TV version, in fact i’m not that much of a fan, but this was good, nice tight editing, with a spooky atmosphere throughout, the wide screen is very clear as is the sound. Now i’ll watch the main feature………&# 8230;….If I dare., (this post has 7 comments)
  14. spelledaren on The War Of The Stars: A New Hope Grindhoused: I don’t think that this worked as well as a movie as your JAWS did. This did tend to become just that mockery (or tribute!) that I never felt that Jaws came to. This one was a fun ride, but the other one felt more true as a grind house feature. Maybe I’m just being picky. I had a lot of fun. I never felt the urge to stop watching, always wondering what was going to hapen next, or…, (this post has 24 comments)
  15. TV's Frink on True Lies: Straight Faced Edition: Really enjoyed this one. It flows very smoothly and is much more enjoyable than the retail version. I agree with the comments that the second half isn’t as good, but nothing could change that. I was ready to give this an 8/10, but decided on a 9/10 because the DVD presentation is simply wonderful. Nice menus and really great special features – I wish more fanedits would have deleted…, (this post has 9 comments)
  16. chancer127 on Kong: Watched this today yippeee! However i did kinda feel there was a couple of “plot holes” & “huh?’ moments. There’s the escape and fall from kongs mountain & the kong falling in the sea a sleep moment. (How did they get him on the ship????) I have seen the original and this is far better, this edit moves along a good pace., (this post has 5 comments)
  17. chancer127 on Wolf Dancer: Excellent edit, it kept me highly entertained throughout, loverly picture and excellent sound for the most part there was the occasional sound flutter, the subtitles when they appeared are fine. Highly recommend, thanks for the movie edit., (this post has 7 comments)
  18. flyboy707 on Kong: I never saw this movie in the theater because of how terrible the other remake of the original “King Kong” was. So I had no frame of reference or pre-conceived notions for this edit. I was actually very excited to DL this FE and watch it. As bobschebaldi said, the technical aspects of this one is excellent. No rough cuts etc noticeable and the audio/video quality is perfect –…, (this post has 5 comments)
  19. searcher on The Lord of the Rings: Book VI – The End of the Third Age: I have enjoyed your work on all of this saga, and I have to echo what spelledaren say’s . What continuity errors?? Its impossible to match the original books with the metarial the guy had, but these are as close a match as possible.Very well edited and hard to believe we had not heard of Kerr before these edit’s. Well done Kerr 8/10 from me., (this post has 8 comments)
  20. searcher on The Man Behind The Mask: You have a great talent TMBTM. Congratulations a well deserved and worthy winner., (this post has 4 comments)
  21. searcher on True Lies: Straight Faced Edition: Well it seems I left this one a little too long for commenting, everybody seems to have said about all there is to say. All that’s left really is to add my thought’s, great well made edit, much better than the original. And actually worth watching again, which I would never have done with the original. Great work Elbarto 9/10., (this post has 9 comments)
  22. TMBTM on True Lies: Straight Faced Edition: I was a bit afraid that this edit would take the fun completely out of the movie, But no, it’s just as fun, with less cheese. I just would have kept “Helen drops gun down steps”. It was a scene I loved. DVD menus and extras are GREAT. Kuddo to Elbarto1., (this post has 9 comments)
  23. bobschebaldi on Kong: Just finished watching this. I didn’t notice any bad edits (audio or video), and overall, the finished product was MUCH better than the version that I saw in the cinema. To go from 200 minutes to 108 minutes obviously means a lot of cutting. However, I can’t say that I noticed any missing footage (apart from the scene with the big bugs, and that didn’t add anything to the…, (this post has 5 comments)
  24. deedee1975 on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: The Essential Edition: Thanks for this edit!!! First of all: I watched it on my laptop, so all I can say about picture and sound quality is that on my notebook it seemed good. This is not an edit that tries to give a new structure to the film, so all the flaws in that department are still in the movie. However, the editor tries to improve the flow and tries to remove as much dumb elements as possible. While I was a…, (this post has 4 comments)
  25. chancer127 on Kong: Looking for this now! ‘This is not a grindhouse edit this time! No special effects added, no gags or twisted ending’ Just a note, a grindhouse edit sounds so good:-), (this post has 5 comments)
  26. spelledaren on JAWS The Sharksploitation Edit: Finally watched it and I was very pleased with what I got. Great feeling for what works and how it could play out…just so entertaining. And the fact that this really feels like a new movie is something special. And both this one and the original are worth seeing more times! Won’t give the full 10, as it wasn’t perfect, but a 9 and a work that TMBTM should be damn proud of., (this post has 29 comments)
  27. thunderclap on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: The Essential Edition: Wish there was a way to edit my previous entry. Anyway, one last thing: I have to give credit where credit is due. Molasar pointed out the wedding sequence, something I can’t claim full creativity for. Jones1899 over at Original Trilogy pointed out a rough version done by Antman about a year ago. While I didn’t copy his version exactly I did use it as a reference with some of my own…, (this post has 4 comments)
  28. thunderclap on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: The Essential Edition: First, I want to thank Molasar for the kind review. The best comment any editor can get is that cuts are seamless. Doing that when you have all the footage can be hard, but doing it with a fully cut film is even harder. As for the two scenes I cut I guess it’s all about personal taste. I was originally going to leave the nuclear test scene in and remove dialog and the gawd awful…, (this post has 4 comments)
  29. 00joe on JAWS The Sharksploitation Edit: Wow. This is a truly amazing fan edit. it is clear that you put an immense amount of time and effort into this. The addition of footage to Quint’s story about the USS Indianapolis actually seemed to make the proceeding whale cries more eerie somehow. The ending was absolutely shocking and i burst out with laughter. This edit is flawlessly executed, it feels professionally unprofessional…, (this post has 29 comments)
  30. Molasar on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: The Essential Edition: FanEdit Review by Molasar Title/FanEditor: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – The Essential Edition by Thunderclap. Prologue: When I heard that a new Indiana Jones flick was coming, I was stoked. I had read a few of the treatments and scripts that Lucas had commissioned by various writers in the years since The Last Crusade came out and they were more of the same: Indy in an…, (this post has 4 comments)
