Donnie Darko – The Amalgamation

by Daveytod
This extends the theatrical version of DONNIE DARKO, using the best bits from the less-than-good Director’s Cut, including extended and deleted scenes, while avoiding the ramming-the-point-home ethic.

Reflections

Reflectionsby CBB
This is a drastic fanedit of the movie MIRRORS. About one third of the movie has been removed for a much more intense horror ride. Especially the lame family horror finale is gone completely. Get ready to be scared.

The Fellowship of the Ring BOOK CUT

a TRUE FANEDIT by Hal9000

In conjunction with Phil, the original fan editor behind the rare book cuts, these revamped book cuts are finally published.
The film was re-cut as close as the faneditors wanted it… to the book… with obviously not ALL of the footage from the book because this would have required extra footage.

Psycho – The Roger Ebert Cut

by Stomachworm
Roger Ebert once wrote…
“If I were bold enough to reedit Hitchcock’s film, I would include only the doctor’s first explanation of Norman’s dual personality: “Norman Bates no longer exists. He only half existed to begin with. And now, the other half has taken over, probably for all time.” Then I would cut out everything else the psychiatrist says, and cut to the shots of Norman wrapped in the blanket while his mother’s voice speaks (“It’s sad when a mother has to speak the words that condemn her own son…”). Those edits, I submit, would have made “Psycho” very nearly perfect. I have never encountered a single convincing defense of the psychiatric blather.”

The Ring Two – Unlocking The Well

Ring Two - Unlocking The Wellby CBB

Those who wished for a better sequel to the US remake of THE RING can be hopeful. Some of the worst scenes are gone, a new beginning and ending were created to provide a lot more tension and fear. It comes full circle.

The 1st Annual FE Awards

These are the fanedit awards for the best fanedits created in 2008.

Our 86 approved faneditors were the jury for this great event. And they placed their fair votes for the following CATEGORIES:

1. Best true fanedit  (contains all the monthly contest winners)

2. Best extended edition (contains the most successful extended editions)

3. Best special edition (contains the most succesful special editions)

4. Best cover artist (the artist must have created at least 3 covers)

5. Best fanditor (the faneditor must have created at least 2 successful fanedits)

The voting weeks were exciting and for a long time it was unclear, who would win. In some categories the decision was obviously easy, but in others it was a tough fight until the final hours. And to really present you an event, we will NOT list the winners for several days, but give you a fantastic PODCAST, featuring a bunch of great and well known people from the fanedit community, who do the announcing as well as the winning speeches of all winners (except one, who was not able to get a working microphone).

So… without further ado: LISTEN TO THE FIRST ANNUAL FANEDIT AWARDS PODCAST (23 minutes, mp3, 43mb)
