Hi Kerr… love your edits!!! They’re really amazing! i was wondering if you had to isolate the dialogue audio at any point? Is there a way to do that?

Great Job Kerr!!!
When will you be starting work on the next three books? After watching Book I I ‘m addicted. I’m downloading both II and III as I write this! (I own the theatrical DVD’s). I hope we won’t have to wait too long for your excellent fan edits?

Kerr, you are on my top favorite fan editors. I couldn’t have possibly enjoyed your LOTR book cuts more! Anxiously awaiting books 4-6, and the DVD versions of all 6.

Thanks for the incredibly kind comments, guys!
Laz32, all three remaining Books are currently being worked on, but I’m not sure when they’ll be finished. I post regular progress updates on the forum. Book IV is by far the hardest to work on, and not particularly fun either, so progress is slow. I hope to have it finished in May. Book V should follow shortly after Book IV.
voodoo – yeah, I’ve had to isolate the dialogue in a few places. The way I do it is to mute the center channel, or everything but the center channel, which works sometimes, but not always. For parts of the recut ride through Hobbiton in Book I, I muted the center channel which effectively removed the dialogue. Alternately, for Book V, I’ve had to remove a piece of dialogue from the Paths of the Dead, but the music was a bit tricky to work with – luckily, muting everything but the center channel gave me a clean dialogue track.

Oh cool! What program do you use to mute those specific channels of audio?

As a hardcore fan of LOTR for last 45 years I was highly excited to see original GREAT DVD set, but…
Well, I thought that has to be done this way for non-initiated plebs to follow the story…
Then I heard of fanedit of LOTR
The praises given to this fanedit made me download it, I cannot wait to watch it.
Still, one little problem occurred – Book V part 2 rar is reported as missing??!
Any chance of re-uploading or giving a new link for it??
Appreciate your feedbakc

Kerr, you’re not actually PJ are you, righting the unintentional wrongs of all those sleepless nights 2000-2003.? Bravo. Magnificent work. I’m very curious as to whether we’ll see a future fan-edit from you made with such devotion. The theatrical releases obviously stirred something deep within your soul..! Seriously, many thanks. My two kids will grow up watching this version from now on.
