The speech:

This award is only give to the best and most recommended faneditors for their outstanding efforts and successions in fanediting. It is not easy to get it and it usually takes quite a lot of fanedits of superior quality to even be taken into account for this honor - but not in this case. It took Uncanny Antman just a mere 6 fanedits to be worthy without a doubt.
Uncanny Antman was a long time member on  faneditforum.com - no one knew, he had been secretly creating fanedits, when all of a sudden he dared to release the first ones. What kept him so long from doing that was that most of his fanedits had versions by other faneditors before, but finally we are all so happy that he came to release his own visions for movies - and all of these are unique and simply put: great. The exceptional quality of video and audio goes on par with a great understanding for pacing and plot, but that’s not where UA stops, his own ideas and experiments are what make his fanedits so special and enjoyable. You will be positively surprised by each of them. His first 2 released fanedits were A Nightmare On Elm Street - Dream Nemesis and Dark Angel: Children Of The Revolution. Both of these revealed a lot of talent already, but his complete breakthrough came for him quite unexpected with his masterpiece version of Terminator 3: Terminator 3 - The Coming Storm. It was as big a hit as it could become one and it still is among the top viewed and downloaded fanedits. Lots and lots of people were praising this version and finally people really started to enjoy Jonthan Mostow’s rather disappointing take on the famous series. Uncanny Antman took a lot of care with the DVD release, like he did then with all his releases: prime quality and some beautifully created special features go along with great DVD menus and fine cover art. Since then all his releases have been very successful and gain quite a lot of responses in the sometimes so quiet community on fanedit.org - and all positive and praising. The people want to see his takes, they even hunger for more. His latest release so far is Predator Chronicles, which puts both the mediocre to sub-par movies of Alien vs. Predator into TV show episodes - and again it works like a charm and once more proves the quote: sometimes less is more. What a talent!

Uncanny Antman’s True Fanedits

Wonka:
Willy Wonka offers five people the chance of a lifetime…a personal tour of his famous chocolate factory. This edit is a gentle one, intended mainly to make the early scenes feel more realistic.

Lost in Space:
The main goal was simply to remove Blarp from the film. Never before has there been a character  so supremely annoying, and utterly inconsequential to the plot. At least Jar Jar Binks and Ruby Rhod actually contributed to their stories. Blarp just screeches a lot. And on top of all that, it’s very mediocre (sometimes downright horrid) CGI.

Incorporating some of the better material from the film “Wake Up, Ron Burgundy” into “Anchorman” to fill out the film and make me laugh more. I love lamp.

Jericho Cane:
The End of Days…seen through the eyes of an ex-cop who has lost everything…wife, daughter, and faith.

Predator Chronicles:
This creates a kind of, “What if the Predator series spawned a series of short TV films, a la Masters of Horror?” Created to be able to watch these stories without cringing all the time. They’ll never be great films, but they are now at least fun films.

Dark Angel: Children Of The Revolution
Streamlining Dark Angel’s second season down to a more enjoyable, cohesive narrative. Focuses on the X-series characters whenever possible, and jettisons most of the ‘monster of the week’ stuff.

Die Hard 4
This mixes the best elements of the theatrical version with the ones from the unrated edition for what could have been the best Die Hard movie ever.

Terminator 3 - The Coming Storm
This is a serious take on TERMINATOR 3 to be more in the tradition of its prequels. Lots of cheesy and unnecessary elements were removed as well as all the references to dates and ages that contradict the previous two films.

Echo
To retain more of an air of mystery in the early stages of the story, rather than having the audience an hour ahead of the characters. 2. To make this Lincoln’s story as much as possible. He’s the anchor, so anything that detracts from that is less important. 3. To trim away some of Bay’s hideously in-your-face product placement.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - Dream Nemesis
It’s about making the Fred Krueger storyline the main focus of the film, and to trim as much of the terrible acting as I could without sacrificing story elements. Sure, Freddy still only gets one kill, but whatcha gonna do?

  1. Hey, man, love your work! You’re the only fan editor whose stuff I’ll download without hesitation. Any chance we’ll see DVDs of “Echo” or “Dream Nemesis?” I want to see them but I’m not really interested in the .avi versions. Also, I know it’s a pipedream but I’d love to see a 2 / 3 disc DVD of “Children of the Revolution.” Keep up the good work. I look forward to your future projects.

  3. You have personally set the standard for fanedits on this site. There are few editors here with works of such great quality, and your ability to turn bad movies good is… well, uncanny. ;-)

  6. UncannyAntman, I’ve become an instant fan of yours after Terminator 3: The Coming Storm. Would you consider tackling the Star Wars Prequels? Even though The Phantom Editor has done episodes 1 & 2, he hasn’t attempted 3 and it doesn’t look like he will. In addition, I’m of the understanding that, for example, his Phantom Menace still refers to midicholrians. I feel sure that you’d remove these and many other things that should never have hit movie theatres.

I downloaded versions of the prequels which I thought you’d done, but quickly realised watching them that they weren’t. I appreciate it’d be a big task, but I think if anyone’s capable of doing them justice..

Your call, of course, and I’d be happy to contribute any way I could. In the meantime - your edits rock.

  7. Schnide, I definitely want to have a crack at the SW prequels someday, but it may be a while. One, because there are already so many versions out there that I doubt I have anything new to add, and two…to be honest, it feels like such a big job. I have to muster my strength first.

  8. I love your Stuff UA! I must say I got really excited when I saw the preview at the end of Jericho Cane - LOST IN SPACE, hellz yeah! Can’t wait to see how you are gonna kick that one up a notch (ah the first DVD I ever owned).

Love your work, Echo was outstanding, JC was as a good as can be expected given the material, and T3 was simply out of this world. I’ve yet to see your other stuff, but I certainly got excited when I saw you put together a Marvel 24 episode. Now just need to get rid of these damn download caps - grrrrr.

Cheers mate, and keep up the great work

  9. Hey bro… I was wonderin if you ever conceived or would do an Evil Dead edit. I have done one that essentially just links all 3 movies together but of course the overall tone shifts heavily from one movie to the next. I dont have any good editing software, nor do I have the patience OR time LOL…. but I imagined a potential edit of the 3 into one movie that stays as dark as possible from beginning to end. I’m certain it would be a difficult task and ya’d probably have to butcher the hell outta Army of Darkness(or as I still like to call The Medievil Dead as was originally hoped by Raimi) but I think if anyone COULD do it… by the work I’ve seen of yours yer definately more than capable. Just an idea and it’d be badass if it COULD be done. If not… sorry for wastin yer time… keep up ALL the good er GREAT work!

  10. Hey Antman. Was just wondering if you have ever considered doing a Superman Returns fan edit?. I’m a big Superman fan & have yet to see a fan edit of the movie that does it justice for me. I have tried many times to create a fan edit but I simply don’t have the software or creative skills to do it & after seeing all your edits I trust that you will knock it out of the park. I have specific thing’s I would like to see in an edit of SR but I don’t want to go shoving all that in your face when I know your quite capable of creating your own idea’s. I can’t think of anyone better for the job. After seeing your T3 & Freddy edits I have absolutley no hesitation in downloading your edits without a second thought. If you’d like to hear my idea’s at all feel free to message back otherwise thankyou for taking the time to read. Good luck with future projects.

  12. Hey dude, I’m sorry to bother you and know his is probably a noob question, but how do you actually get to play the fan edit? I have the original Terminator 3 film on DVD like the site says, but I can’t figure out how to get the edit to play, not even close and I’m dying to see your edit for T3. Any chance you can help me out?
