I've always enjoyed Spider-Man 3, probably because of childhood nostalgia. I never thought I'd see a Lynchian take on it. The edit has some very interesting ideas, very creative choices. I quite liked the rescores, and the modification of Mary Jane's voice at the end a la Twin Peaks. The main thing I didn't understand was why the edit opens with Brock, as he doesn't come into play later. I did think it was quite neat how the edit loops around to Peter & Gwen entering the Jazz club. The Jazz club scene itself is pure cringe, had to skip through part of that, but it was worth including for the "who are you" bit. I thought that the fight scene with Sandman was fine to include, but perhaps should've have been shortened, as the point of that scene (I imagine) was to show Peter killing Sandman in revenge, so the fighting itself could've been a bit shorter. Only a minor gripe.
I'm hardly a fan of Lynch, he pointlessly convolutes stories for no good reason, but I did enjoy this edit, it was very well done. I imagine most of Lynch's films would also work better as shorts.

Watching this was a shock. I'd forgotten how bad Spiderman 3 was... regardless, this is a neat, tight little non-linear take on the film.
I'm not overly familiar with Lynch - I've seen two of his films, one of his shorts, and then various clips and spoofs. Some elements of the edit seemed to reflect what I know of him, others felt out of place. I would have cut the fight scene, personally.
Visual quality isn't great and the aspect ratio appears to be wrong/squashed on the vimeo link. There are some creative cuts with video and audio. Some audio sounded incomplete, but there's nothing jarring.
Overall, a cool short. Maybe just needed to double down on the concept.

This is great stuff. The ability to turn Spiderman 3 into a moody abstract Lynchian nightmare takes serious talent. Well done Mr.Fry

A Psychogenic Fugue (by Dwight Fry) – Very interesting edit. I am surprised how well the emo Peter Jazz Scene worked with the David Lynch style. I am glad that Dwight abandoned this one and I think the wait was worth it. 9/10

I enjoy and respect a lot of David Lynch's work, so this short was a fun interpretation of Spider-Man in the style of Lynch. This edit has many interesting and fascinating ideas that for the most part work in the vision and style of the short. I definitely recommend this to everyone who is a fan of Lynch, but it's not for everyone.
Audio and video editing is great. Modifying Mary Jane's voice at the end was a smart move to get the short closer to the spirit of Lynch and cuts were done pretty good, but I could see clearly where scenes were cut. And I wished that some scenes in the short happened in a different order to add more of a mysterious and dark tone to make it more in a subtle way scary.
Well done, Dwight Fry. You have made a pretty interesting story out of Spider-man that I would revisit sometime soon.

This edit had a really interesting concept and I believe the editor executed it technically very well but it did not work for me. I love David Lynch and I wish this was more Lynch-ian. I would have preferred no action scenes, and less coherence. If the whole thing were as surreal as the final part, basically. Also, the jazz club stuff is just laughably bad acting and there's nothing anybody can do for that to not take me out of it. I honestly would have preferred a bit more haze and no action at all. But, what was done was edited very well. I am only rating the narrative a 5 because I feel it had coherent chunks of plot for parts of the film that weren't Lynchian at all (Sandman fight, jazz club) in my mind. A noble effort nonetheless and worth a watch.

I have to appologize in advance as i am not really familiar with most of Lynch's work so i guess that I pretty much didn't get the edit's intention.
Without knowing the structure and style that Dwight was referring to I found myself just watching a very shortened version of Spider-Man that didn't really do much for me, but I am pretty sure it was my uninformed mind that made me miss the larger picture :D

Dude (or dudette), DF's concoction really messed with my sense of reality. Use with caution.
Killer use of a Fantomas song, by the way. That totally spanked my mind.
