As a huge Spider-man fan, i love incarnations of the infamous webhead, and going into this edit, i wasn't sure what to expect. What i found was a cohesive story that eliminated many aspects of the original that fell flat, Peter is now portayed more as the outcast loner rather than the wisecracking teenager no one likes. The deleted scenes are done as well as they possibly can be given the source material, yet im on the fence when it came to the scene of Peter and Gwen having a picnic on a monument. I don;t think this scene really added anything the film needed.
For the most part, this edit was enjoyable, but there are edited scenes that did feel a little jaring, and in some instances broke the illusion of the film. This is only breif thankfully, and for the most part, the editing is quite commendable.
I'm in the category where i really like Garfield's interpretation of Spider-Man in the original edit. And while this edit won't replace it, it's most definately woth a watch!
