Synopsis:
This is The Amazing Spider-Man with all its deleted scenes PLUS the Roosevelt subplot from the second movie added to the first movie. This is the full extent of the promised Untold Story without polluting the overstuffed second movie.
Intention:
I wanted to strengthen the themes of secrets, loss, and loneliness present in the first movie by adding back the deleted scenes, which were a huge mistake to delete in the first place. So much of Dr. Connors' humanity was lost in those deleted scenes, and I wanted to restore that. In addition, to resolve the Untold Story left open in the first movie, I decided to move the Roosevelt subplot from the overstuffed second movie to the first one.

Editing Details:

Cuts and Additions:
The parents storyline from TASM2 has been added, and all the deleted scenes from the first movie plus the plane deleted scene from TASM2 have been added. Many scenes were trimmed, rescored, or tweaked/restored in After Effects. The movie and deleted scenes have been regraded by Bobson Dugnutt.

I was intrigued by the approach of this edit, shifting a subplot from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to the first film in the series (because god knows that film didn't need that many subplots). Unfortunately, I came away not feeling the experiment totally worked. For example, I felt the inclusion of the plane crash scene early in the film palpably hurt the pacing and took us out of Peter's perspective when we ought to have stayed rooted in the character and his journey. I ultimately didn't feel the scene told us that much that we couldn't glean from other sequences.
The other "untold story' scenes felt similarly superfluous, much as they did in the original 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' film. I do however feel that many of the reincorporated deleted scenes worked in the movies favor, giving more pathos to the character of Dr. Curt Conners. It's a shame that placeholder vfx and sfx in some scenes were still obvious, despite Masirimso putting in a good effort to patch up any obvious green screen. Ultimately I'd recommend Masirimso17's standard extended edition instead.

This is a vastly superior version of this film. It is made much more emotional by fleshing out Dr. Connors with extra scenes, especially the extra sequence in the sewer near the end. The film feels completely different and pacing is totally improved. Uncle Ben's death is way better in this version. The parent sub-plot, which never worked for me before, works in this edit, and helps to make the film feel more narratively complete and satisfying. The edit was also very professionally done, it was seamless. This is going to be my go-to version of this film.

The best part of this edit is the extra scenes of Dr. Connors. It really helps flesh that character out and make his relationship with Peter more empathetic and realistic. Nice to see that, and the extra scenes of Gwen and Peter were good to see too. Overall a great edit, and very well done on a technical level. I think I might be leaning away from enjoying the mystery scenes of Peter's parents - it's hard to switch gears after the finale to enjoy that part. I'll probably check out Masirimso17's other edit that excludes that and see if it becomes my go-to. This was still a great edit though, and I like I have both as an option.

The Amazing Spider-Man was marketed as the "untold story," but the version we got was pretty much a retread of the original film with a couple more references to Peter Parker's parents.
Through the inclusion of some deleted scenes, and a couple of scenes from TASM2, Masirims017's Untold Extended Edition absolutely delivers on providing a truly unique "untold" story!
From a technical level, this edit is superb. The visual editing on deleted scenes is at a professional quality, and the audio editing is perfect. I loved the inclusion of musical motifs from the Rami trilogy, which makes this feel more like a 4th chapter in the Spider-Man saga and less like a total reboot.
Deciding to conclude the subplot of Richard Parker in this first movie also goes a long way to making the story feel more unique (and the Untold Finale Edition of TASM2 is made all the better for it). The only thing that couldn't be edited around is Peter's changing hair style between the two movies, and a few scenes where the map in his room isn't visible. But those are very minor things, and ultimately the story is better for the inclusion of those scenes, so it's forgivable.
At 2hr40min, the runtime makes this the single longest Spider-Man film. That said, it feels epic in it's scope, with an excellent flow and pacing between the acts. This is, without a doubt, my go to version of The Amazing Spider-Man.

This is the most complete version of the amazing Spider-Man I've ever seen: the subplots are resolved, the villain is more sympathetic and developed and everything is edited superbly, making it feel like a true director's cut version (or at least the closest thing to it).
A truly amazing work (pun intended).

The Webb cut
This edit is the closest we will see of Marc Webb's vision. Amazing Spiderman much like Justice League is a movie plagued with behind the scenes interference, when I saw it in theaters I thought it was okay with glimmers of potential. I do not know why this movie changed and removed so many scenes especially when they improve everything. The changed deleted scenes and additions fix all my quips I had with the movie The lizard is more empathetic and his goals more clear. Uncle Bens death is fixed and adding the parent mystery subplot here just makes so much more sense.
I loved this edit it surpasses the original and will be my go to version for future watches it accomplishes everything the editor set out to do highly recommended if you want a complete version of Marcs Amazing Spiderman.
