Synopsis:
With this fanedit I have turned 1997's 'Anastasia' into the quintessential Disney princess movie.

This edit has 2 versions, both contain the same edits, however one displays the original Fox titles and the other presents titles as they would have appeared had this been a Disney Diamond Edition Blu-Ray release.
Intention:
My goals were to: Remove most of the distasteful devil worshiping elements from the movie's central villain, to give the movie a proper villain by removing excess silliness from the characters of Rasputin and his sidekick Bartok, to remove poorly conceived computer generated imagery that clashes with the beautiful hand drawn animation, and to generally redeem a film that deserves a place alongside any Disney princess collection.
Special Thanks:
Thanks to Don Skonecki and JJE-187 for creating the artwork for this edit!
Release Information:

Editing Details:
I've envisioned the film as it may have appeared if it was released by Disney instead of Fox.
Cuts and Additions:
- Fox titles have been replaced with Disney Diamond Edition bluray titles (this change was only made for the Disney version of this release)
- The scene where Rasputin trades his soul (and skin) has been cut
- "Lost Princess of Russia" subtitle has been added
- A short scene where Rasputin mentions selling his soul has been trimmed
- A redundant and long scene where Rasputin and Bartok discuss killing Anastasia and dancing in Paris has been cut completely
- Several changes have been made to the final battle, I've removed all hints that there once existed a badly computer animated demonic pegasus.
- Bartok and his new bat girlfriend have been eliminated from the final scene
- Fanedited by Jerick added to the credits

I finally had a chance to watch this with my daughter who loves Disney princess movies.. I was worried this one would skew on the scary side for her (she is 4), but this version completely sidesteps the meaningless demonic (and poorly animated) stuff that really doesnt add anything to the movie in my opinion.

My kid loved it! I loved it .. I forgot how many great actors they got for this. The purpose of the edit was to Disney-fy and I think this knocked it out of the park

I thoroughly enjoyed this fanedit. Jerick did a great job of exactly what he set out to do. I didn't even realize this movie wasn't a Disney film until maybe ten years after I saw it. I watched this with my nine-year-old daughter since this movie was really for both of us. Her words are in quotes.

A/V Quality - 9 - "Looked really good."

Visual Editing - 10 - Did you notice anything gone or edited? Did you know there was anything gone from the end? "No. It just looked like a movie."

Audio Editing - 9 - "I didn't see any talking that didn't match. The transactions from one scene to the next were, like, normal."

Narrative - 10 - Maintaining everything I enjoy about the original. Our hero is pretty tough and the villain still dark and disturbing. The nearly unwatchable CGI is gone! Great job. "What do you mean, dad? I didn't see the other version. I don't know what you're saying is gone. I just mean it was good."

Enjoyment - 10 - "I would have to say that it's a ten because I enjoyed it very much. It seemed just like a normal movie but a good movie. I like that one." I think that pretty much sums it up!

Foreword: I haven't seen the original in sometime, which I prefer for watching edits and I also didn't review the changes (log) ahead of watching, which I also prefer. I looked at the edit list back when I downloaded the edit, but I like to not know what I'm walking into; I don't watch an edit for a few months or more after downloading it.

What I liked: You kept the feeling of the original but made it less boring and "scary". Your edit's transitions were very good.

What I didn't: This version didn't add anything for me. I also thought a lot about removing the "scary" bits and I think there is room for improvement. As a child's movie having a guy literally falling apart all the time is a little creepy.

Overall: I thought this made it feel more like a Disney movie, and in fact I have a few people watch it with me and they actually thought it was because they couldn't remember that it wasn't. I'd prefer this version over the original for children. I'm not sure it is better or worse but it is a little more streamlined.

Extra: Keep up the good work! Maybe next time you re-encode/work on this you can use H265 for some added compression, just FYI.

The film was very clean in it's presentation and delivery, and I didn't really notice the cuts made to it. Jerick did a very good job keeping the tension intact and removing some of the harshest points of occult practices.
