Finally managed to watch this after several months, and to be brutally honest I was extremely disappointed. Besides the colour grading and perhaps the video quality nothing else really made sense. The narrative is absolutely cluttered and confusing. Key scenes are omitted whilst some filler scenes are kept in. Which is a shame because this really had a lot of potential to be a true Batman driven story. Some of the few criticisms for example…
1) The congressional hearing in the beginning isn’t properly edited. "The people in the village" what village? In Metropolis?
2) That scene should prompt Clark to go to Gotham and meet her which leads him to find out about the bat brand. Omitted for no rational reason.
3) The Indian Ocean scene, beautiful scene. But both Lex and Bruce mention Kryptionite being found at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Twice.
4) The prison scenes with Santos and Clark receiving the morgue Polaroids, again omitted. Doesn’t make sense especially since Clark hasn’t been to Gotham but he says to Bruce "I’ve seen him Mr Wayne he thinks he’s above the law" uh? What?!
5) More importantly is the Lois and Clark scene on the balcony. She says to him there are people behind this (implying she knows it’s Lex) but also Superman flys away. Ok cool, but a few minutes later when he rescues her she says "you came back, you came back" came back from where???
There are other examples of course but those were the glaringly obvious ones that stood out. Which is a shame because this edit really had the potential to be something.
