I'm too young to have watched the original series of BSG, so I had no preconceived notions/ideas/biases about the re-booted version. I was very excited to see a show like the re-booted BSG appear on the landscape of television back in the early 2000s.

I thoroughly enjoyed the mini-series and seasons 1 and 2 of BSG. Although I avidly watched Seasons 3 and 4, I was disappointed in the direction the series took, and the development of a number of the characters--especially the Baltar character. The whole Baltar messianic-thing was a bit too much for me. Still, overall the entire series is outstanding tv.

I enjoyed this edit quite a bit. Before I knew of the existence of this edit, I had often thought that it would be great to just have the Cylons as this relentless, cold machine-logic force bent on the destruction of all human life--all experienced form the Colonials point of view. BionicBob delivers this in a very exciting, narratively coherent manner.

I, like other reviewers have previously mentioned, liked the blending of material other BSG properties like Razor, The Plan, etc. Use of this material and BionicBob's unique ideas, make for a well-paced, interest (and entertaining!) edit.

Although I like the Baltar character in the original's first two season, his absence (except the Raptor scene on Caprica) in this edit works beautifully. He was not missed.

I like the mix of original and re-boot music, but sometimes the use of the original music seems to be a bit out of place and a bit 'over-powering'. Plus, there were several points where the audio transitions were very 'rough'. Overall, none of this really detracts from the overall edit.

I understand that this edit was made by Bionic Bob a very long time ago, so not having this edit in HD is a 'gripe'; but, not a major one.

I have been a devoted follower of the BSG franchise since the day I bought, on a whim, a vintage 70s annual at a car boot sale. I was fascinated with the notion of a rag-tag fleet going up against ruthless (and cool looking) death machines. I saw the series proper on BBC TWO in the late 90s and was completly roped in. Original BSG took me on a wild ride and helped me cope with a number of depressions I underwent in 1999. When the new series came on in 2004, it also helped me cope with a tough time as I had to get dential work done on my teeth (don't drink gallons of coca cola to cope with college folks), and I enjoyed it all the same, the final season in particular got me through a tough emotional time for me.

So fast forward to now. As of this writing, there are some things that are presently troubling me, a combination of the exact same things that troubled me the last two times, so what better solution for this latest set of blues than to watch what has always helped me cope the best through tough times...BSG. In this case, it's a marraige of the tried and true methods with the up-to-date riveting thrills of what the modern series can accomplish. Blending material from Razor, The Plan, and other things and encircling them around the mini-series, cutting away all of the heavy soul-searching storylines and soapy melodrama to provide a more intense action-oriented peice that enhances the themes of both versions of the series and keeps the spirit of the vintage original alive. The material lends itself well to reinvention and Bob always delivers something original and unique in each of his presentations. A great treat for anyone who wants a tight, well-paced accerlerated space adventure with none of the space opera

I am late to the game on watching BSG, I flew through the first two seasons but have slowed down and just recently finished season 3. I have been disappointed with the direction the series took after season 2. This edit has rekindled my fire and I look forward to watching more. This was a great view. This FE trims the fat and makes for a very compelling story. I absolutely loved the music. Removing Baltar was my favorite part of the edit, I cant stand his character. The only improvement I could suggest would involve an HD version.
