Big Trouble in Little China is a favorite of mine, ever since I first saw it in 1987. One of Carpenter's best, it had Russell on top for as the hero buffoon. So, when I saw that nOmArch had restored the seven deleted scenes from the 2 disc edition, I was intruiged as to how it would work. And I'm glad to say it works damned well.

Video: 7/10
The picture itself is a tad blocky, and the added scenes were originally transferred from BetaMax, but its Big Trouble in Little China! It's forgivable. And, if I'm honest, I don't feel that it takes away from your enjoyment of the movie at all.

Visual Editing: 9/10
The added scenes are added flawlessly. There was one instance where one added scene near the start did a quick fade to black, but it's nothing major to be fair, and the scene does flow very smoothly, so it cancels it out. Overall, a top job with the material on offer.

Audio Editing: 9/10
Nothing major here. Sounds awesome as ever. There was one place where te music cuts out, but it's for nothing more than a split second and, agai, doesn't detract from the film at all.

Narrative: 10/10
Oh, come on! It's BTiLC, ffs! The narrative is going to be top notch, and the added scenes make this cult favorite even more funnier.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Still as awesome as when I first saw it, the added material adds more oomph to it.

Summary:
If you're a fan of the original, you can't miss this. A funny film, made even funnier. If you're not a fan of the original, it probably won't sway you, but I still think it's worth a watch.

Top job all round!

I’ve always found this movie amusing, and some of the villains are quite cool (huge inspirations for years, especially with things like Mortal Kombat), and this edit is quite fun. It’s a shame that the deleted stuff isn’t of higher quality in the first place, but that’s just the way it is, and it’s nice to have everything together. It shows a lot of work was done in stitchng everything together and making alterations where necessary. (AR convertions and such, as mentioned in the previous post) Well done. I’ll give it 8/10.

I am an extended edition buff and have a big collection of original ones and all the fanedits from here.
Many extended editions do not add anything to the movie, just add more useless scenes. I will rate the ones here.
