This edit was the definition of a "Bad Movie Made Less Bad": improved pacing, better music choices, clearer narrative focus...but the film is still inherently bad. Sure, the action was well executed, some of the characters like Atom Smasher and Uncle Karim are charming, Pierce Brosnan is fantastic as ever and Aldis Hodge has all the makings as a leading man in his own right, but The Rock— as much as I love him— was wooden as hell and the plot still felt all over the place, even with Keo's masterful editing.

If you have an hour and a half for a brainless superhero flick or are a fan of The Rock, then I would recommend this version of Black Adam. Worth a watch.

This is from the perspective from someone who has only seen this version of the film. That being said, understanding that additional work went in to greatly taper down and streamline this film also plays a great role in my appreciation and enjoyment of the content. The edits were extremely clean and did not interfere with my viewing experience, with only 2 or 3 moments were the edits felt noticeable.

I'm pretty neutral about the "opening crawl" present at the beginning of this film, but it did provide some much needed context for the conflict which occurs. Loved the action sequences, and the characterization of the rest of the cast felt appropriate throughout the film. This holds up for the first half to 2/3rds of the movie, before the weirdness of DC starts setting in. Notably with some inconsistent power scaling, heroes just not really using their powers in engaging or meaningful ways, and odd motivations and disagreements between characters.

Overall, the strong start with interesting enough characters and their dynamics made this an enjoyable experience. Definitely worth a watch.

A very good fan edit. I'd like to akin this movie to the Kaiju movies like the Godzilla franchise where it has everything we want from those kinds of movies: Nothing but simple Action, Destruction, and Meyhem. But unfortunately, it has the same flaws that always holds those movies back including the recent movies too which is the worthless relatable human filler arcs that no one cares about. Honestly, I feel like they had those scenes and others just to make the running time over 2 hours because every superhero for some reason needs to be that long unlike the Venom movies while very flawed at least got straight to the point just like this fan edit. With those scenes gone it still feels like a complete movie without anything missing from the original and the replaced post-credit actually fit perfectly well making it another great fan edit by wakeupkeo. Hoping that you do more DCEU movie in the future.

Wakeupkeo remains the gold standard for DCEU edits. While Black Adam was never going to be a great film, by stripping away a lot of the less successful attempts at pandering to audiences, the most interesting themes of the film are allowed to emerge more clearly. Well worth your time.

Once again Wakeupkeo spoiled us with a very generous DCEU edit. Black Adam was a brainless and fun actioner who had a sweet late-90s blockbuster taste. It was definitely enjoyable but lacked something that could've made it truly special. This is where The Justice Society vs. The Champion of Kahndaq steps in, the original movie being a Rock flick, it's obviously safe to assume that this part didn't fundamentally change (The Rock is cool, the Rock is strong, the Rock is d4rk...yada yada yada). But the surrounding plot and the evolving narrative are now way more ballsy, what was previously subtly pushed under the rug is clearly stated in the new intro. Screw that mumbo jumbo stuff about Eternium, it still has magical properties, but it's first and foremost the main reason globalist corporations took over Kahndaq. The "hell" crown itself went from a corny McGuffin leading to the classic CGI battle at the end, to a more meaningful and slightly deeper symbol of oppression, it became its own villain.
I'm glad that you chose to let go of the idea of directly linking INTERGANG to former Black Water, I like to think of it as a materialization of all thug companies merged together, hence the name, International Gang.
The rest of the editing as always is flawless, trims are unnoticeable. Newly added dialogue sounds clean (except for the first time we hear "Life is the only path to death"). I particularly love "Let's Go to Prison Shall We" and "I Can Send Someone Who Can Pack a Punch", I noticed that you also used a Viola Davis deep fake to make her voice fit her lips movements, that was an amazing final touch.

If I recommend this edit? Hell yeah! You bet I do.
