Synopsis:
The extra extended or additional five deleted scenes could have easily remained in the final cut. In fact the removal of Ned’s first attempt creates a continuity error in the final release version which in this extended version is corrected.
The additional sexy scenes all add depth to the character, plot and critically the fims suspense.

Intention:
I relally hope you enjoy this version which in my view is one of the greatest noirs ever made. WB never mention how much the film owes to Double Indemnity, as if Warner Bros. doesn’t want viewers to know and spoil the greatest noir ever made.

This is quite an old edit but still a worthy one. I've been asked to put together a list of 250 Must See movies, and Body Heat makes that list. It's possibly the best modern Noir film ever made, and something I'd never ask for a fanedit of.
That said, there are 5 deleted scenes reincorporated into the film flawlessly here, making up about 9 minutes of footage, and none of them are bad. The argument is simply if they slow down the frenetic pace of the film or not (I think they do) and whether you prefer that or not (I think I don't). In this form, it's a bit of a slower, more methodical film, which certainly is a valid alternative way to view, though I think I probably will stick to the theatrical cut in the future.
On the plus side, there is one extra scene that I really do love in this: the one where Matty goes to console Ned after the botched first attempt. I won't spoil more accept to say that I think its inclusion would make the film even better. (My full review is here: https://boxd.it/5YWNU9 )
On the negative side, this is an older edit, from an older source. It doesn't even really look 720p to me, and that's a make-or-break for some people. The deleted scenes are basically the same quality though, so at least they blend in seamlessly.
TLDR: This is an early Wraith edit that seems to have slipped under the radar. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

I'm a bit late to this one (ten years, to be exact, but also a newbie to the forum), so I was very excited to find this edit with 8 minutes of excised footage incorporated back into this, one of my top-ten movies of all time. The footage is nicely edited in, and the quality, unlike some extra scenes we have all seen before, is actually equal to the main feature. Also, the content plays nicely into the narrative, although some, including the director, felt that the "first attempt" scene was unneeded. I disagree. Anything added into this, probably the best noir ever, is very welcome in my option, and I'm so glad to find a "new" version of such a long-time fave!

A stone-cold (or in this case sweltering-hot) modern film-noir classic made perfect by the restoration of deleted scenes and fixing of continuity issues. I had recently watched “Body Heat” so I was pretty keen to see Wraith’s extended edition. There’s one very slight editing glitch towards the end when Oscar goes to the hotel as he draws a bead on Ned as the killer. I had to back it up and watch again to be sure I had seen what I thought I saw. But other than that this deft fanedit is top-notch, as befits a story of deceit and murder as primo as neo-noir gets. Which is in part due to the brilliant score by John Barry that completely nails the mood and tone of the tale. Nice job providing cues from the score for the restored footage. Kathleen Turner as Mattie Walker [yowza!] is quite possibly the epitome of cunning seductive manipulative siren, delivering a gold-standard gold-digger performance. Poor Ned! The sap didn’t stand a chance. Well done, Wraith, for producing the definitive version of “Body Heat”. [applause]
