Lapis molari edit shifts the movie's focus more onto the government's worry about superheroes being too powerful. It cuts down a lot of Zemo’s screen time and his revenge plot, which makes the movie flow better. Instead of showing Zemo torturing people for info, it now just assumes he got it from Black Widow's data leak, which feels easier to believe. Plus, Bucky’s opening scene is swapped out for a news report with President Ellis talking about the Accords, which adds more context and makes the whole issue feel more serious from the start.

Other changes include trimming some unnecessary lines from Bucky and Zemo to keep things moving faster. There's also less replaying of the scene where Tony’s parents get killed, which makes it hit harder when it’s revealed. Overall, this edit makes the story more about the Avengers' internal conflict, rather than Zemo's revenge, and it makes the whole plot feel tighter and more focused on what really matters. Thank you Lapis for a more streamlined version of the movie.

The increased pace in this version really helps it feel less like a slog. I love Civil War as-is, but this edit does a good job cleaning up some of the parts I don't like all that much.

Zemo's reduction in the story makes the whole plot flow a lot better, and it especially makes T'Challa's little monologue at the end hit harder. The drip-feeding of the scene where Tony's parents died is also appreciated, as opposed to the original, where it's played over and over and kinda loses meaning.

Overall, great job by lapis molari. I thoroughly enjoyed this fanedit.

This was one of two edits I watched in preparation of Wakanda Forever, & it was nice revisiting this version of the film. I really appreciate the shift in focus from making this about Zemo to more on the question of oversight vs. individualism, & the WHH clips really helped with that.

That said, the clips feel a tad dry in comparison to the rest of the film. The second time they showed up, cutting into & out of the music was distracting with how interrupted what was already in the film. I'd either add music over the clip or completely replace the second half of the news report Wanda was watching with the WHH clip.

And while I do appreciate the shift in focus, Zemo's introduction feels jarring as a result. I would've liked if the clip used to introduce him was placed at the end of the first WHH clip, imply Zemo was listening to it as he plots out his plan. Maybe add in the Winter Soldier theme as well, to hammer home that the red book is tied into Bucky somehow.

As far as really subjective nitpicks go, I would've preferred some of the jokes toned down in the airport scene, as well as not make the ending of the film so squeaky clean. Instead of the triumphant Avengers theme, you could use Civil War by Guns n' Roses to show that the Avengers are truly torn apart (admittedly, though, I'm just annoyed that song was nowhere in the movie, lol). I also missed Zemo saying "Did it?" to help sell the idea that this was a huge loss for the Avengers.

Also, on a technical/subtitle note, when Tony & Peter first meet, there's no period when Tony says "Mr. Parker." Nothing deal-breaking, but it was annoying.

All in all, a fantastic light edit that supplants the original for me.

One my all-time favorite marvel movie fixed to perfection thanks to Lapis here. One of the best improvements in the movie is making the villain more mysterious and almost nonexistent on the sidelines that makes him the true evil mastermind who appears at the last minute and contrast that with adding more detail about the accord which gives the movie a more political thriller with added elements of mystery like the last movie. Some of the problems that are really minor like the audio transitions between the cut/edited scenes which is sort-of noticeable and that fact that you still probably need to see the other mcu movies other than captain america for more context since captain america is part of the avengers despite the movie being treated as a VS crossover movie like power rangers/Godzilla. But overall this is again another a-list Fan edit worth watching by Lapis molari.

Thank you for this edit.
I envy the approach to shift the focus back to the avengers and less past driven. I really enjoyed this. Cuts are - from my perspective - flawless.
Only gripe: the audio issue as mentioned by another review
