So I've been rewatching the Pirates trilogy this week, and LOVED TM2YC's second pirates edit, so was really looking forward to this one. I knew in advance I wanted to see the scene with the rock crabs and multitude of Jacks removed in Davy Jones' Locker.

As a whole, this was totally accomplished, and my #1 gripe with the trilogy removed. The pacing is dramatically improved as a result. Singapore (one of the highlights of the trilogy) was left basically intact, with some helpful minor trims to keep the tension. Really loved the few extra additions here, such as Jack's backstory with Beckett and the Devil's Throat scene.

My two minor gripes are no fault of TM2YC's. It's a 10 year old edit that deserves way more attention, but I would love a higher quality export. The dark scenes would benefit from the higher bitrate in both this and the previous edit. Secondly, the last act still feels long. I don't have any constructive criticism here, but I do check my watch a bit towards the end. I understand this is the epic conclusion to the pirates franchise, but the ending to this film is a bit lacklustre to me, and hampers my enjoyment of the film. It's likely that TM2YC's edit is the best it can be, and this edit (like his edit of Pirates 2) will replace the official versions for me. Heartily recommend this edit to anyone interested in a refined version of the Pirates trilogy!
