Synopsis:

This edit really surprised me. In doing research for my own edit of the same movie, I wanted to watch every version I could get my hands on, and this was the most unique. It's fcuking spectacular!
During the interview scene his editing made me spit out my drink in laughter. Holy shit I think I laughed for a solid hour.
Fantastic work. The only negative is that it's 720, but the grindhouse effects make it not really matter. I'd love to see a 1080 or even 4K refresh, but it isn't needed. This FanEdit is awork of art!

Recommend.... an Ultra-HD remastering for this intriguing rehash of 'Blade Runner'. Its good but it could be great.
I see alot of people quite like low quality picture (as seen here). The sunny room projection in a grimey house trash appeal. It quite escapes me where they are coming from on this one. Surely the humid summer night projection on dusty screens using old reel and unstable equipment at trashy Drive Ins is what Grindhouse means. Like this; its a Drive Out for me.
Subtly subversive. The narration using some sort of AI voiceoverer is brilliant (particularly funny bit driving on the open road in the flying car at the end). Its the unfinished, slapped and dashed film rife with imperpections being thrown in the arena that does Grindhouse for me. Mish-mashes. Clever ways to smooth things out. And talking about smoothness the soundtrack it exactly that all the way.
'Funkadelic Sheep' was a 1977 underground smash hit. It just needs a modern digitalization.
NB: In case anyone wonders about the HQ & LQ offerings both are downgraded. This review is based on the HQ... god help U if U decide to watch the LQ one.... WTF!!

Im an old man and growing up with a grindhouse theater in my town, I wanted to see this edit. It really will put u in the grindhouse feel. The movie follows along the original with a few twists that that make laugh. If u never seen a grindhouse movie this might not be ur thing, but for me it great. Grindhouse quality at the theater varied from film to film and how many times it was already ran before u see it. This video covers the different qualities u find in a grindhouse theater. Very much a real feel.

As for the last 10 months I am doing only more or less grindhoused edits I had to check that one out.
First thing - very nice trailers (what was the voice?), especially the second one, and opening grindhouse footage as well. As for the look - sometimes I felt that some of the print damage looks a little too soft compared to the actual footage (and some of the overlays felt like being on quite a short loop), but it didn't really diminish the experience.
Even if it was shorter (and different as there is some deleted footage incorporated) I've felt somehow that it was as long as original Also, it looks like (and I was expeting that) Krausfadr was going for more accurate grindhouse feel than I usually do. So, all the music from 60-70s etc (or at least sounds like that). That's not a bad thing at all, but I feel that using more variety of music sometimes helps to highlight some scenes a little. Here, sometimes I felt that there is a similar feel most of the time which was a little bit tiring sometimes. On the other hand, the music worked well most of the time, sometimes even great. Also, I'd put some more music into the ending, because there was quite a long period of time with no music at all if I remember correctly.
I've also felt, that the music used fits Blade Runner and the mood of the movie a little too much. Almost like something that could be there originally, that is an advantage (because, well, it works) and disadvantage at the same time, because when the change of tone isn't that big, the experience doesn't feel so much different than watching the original.
That being said, it is still quite interesting and enjoyable experience, especially for fans of "grindhousediting" ;). Some nice touches here and there make me laugh, like some of the dialogue from long-nosed JF Sebastian's little friend, or Pris acrobatics.
So, what we got here isn' an upgrade (which was to be expected), but still very nice, stylish version of the all time classic, with some nice ideas included, but maybe just a little too close to the original movie's feel.
