Synopsis:
Here’s part 2, almost 2 years later.

Second fall, second video. A distorted mirror of the first chapter, [fe] la vie 2.22 is an outsider’s p.o.v.; flavie’s view of myself, who is now more than what she originally was. The person has become a symbol of so much more and on so many levels that I don’t care to count anymore.

Hope you enjoy this new fragment of my warped and damaged mind.
Intention:
To sell out.
Special Thanks:
Very special thanks to Uncanny Antman who created the cover and banner for this project.
Release Information:

Special Features:
The DVD menu tells a miniature story!
Editing Details:
This is more of a stream of conscious and unconscious thoughts than a regular fanedit. Made from many, many different sources, it is a sequel to [fe] la vie but works just as well as a prequel.
Cuts and Additions:
This is what I call an assembly – that which others call a collage. A cut list is therefore not applicable.

Like the original (fe) le vie, this edit defies conventional description, but I will say that I actually enjoyed this one far more than the original.

The elements were bolder and the journey was more engrossing than the original. For me, the biggest difference is that I felt there was more of a thread, I could grasp a flow of events, and that such disparate elements could be reconstituted into such a manner is truly impressive.

Like the original project the video is as good as the edit requires of it and I won't rate it, but this time I do give the narrative a rating because it affected me that much more deeply this time.

I loved it, and want to see (fe)la vie 3.33.

I wish there were more wild edits like this on the site. I like to see movies improved on or extended, but there just aren’t many new and exciting things being done with fanedits.

Credits at the end, or at the very least as a feature in the DVD menu would have been nice, but overall the presentation was decent.

Keep making these, blueyoda.

Like the first it was a weird but nice experience.
I agree with UA’s statement about “like dreaming”.
This is not your regular fanedit were faneditors try to improve or change a movie.
This is basicaly making a new movie with various sources, without a clear plot, but with the feeling that the editor tries to tell something, to us, and maybe to himself also.
Worths checking to make your own mind about it.

PS: the first “part” of this edit was released 2 years ago as an AVI, and is present in a folder along with the DVD release of this one)

So I watched this edit a few days ago. I had ZERO idea of what to expect going in. But I remembered hearing that it had gotten some high praise from people on here.

At first I was thinking to myself, "damn, is this whole edit gonna be with this bear?!" but I kept watching. Very cool to see all the films that were used in this assembly and how blueyoda connected them all.

blueyoda's choices made sense to me and this edit was an extremely enjoyable 22 minutes. I'm going to have to check out part 1.

Having not seen the original, I had no idea what to expect when watching the second in BlueYoda's (Fe) La Vie series. And now, after the experience, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

BlueYoda has created a bold Fanedit, exploring themes and thought strands rather than a traditional narrative. Normally such an endeavor would result in a complete indecipherable mess, but everything seems surprisingly tight and interconnected.

In my general interpretation, a tender prologue provides a glimpse into the innocent root of an idea that once existed, which appears to be trying to break through in more adult forms of media and expression throughout the remainder of the runtime. Not knowing the editor, perhaps this is not what was intended but rather what I needed to read out of it. Either way, it was a surprising experience of highs, lows, and discoveries. It made me think and feel in very untraditional but core ways.

10/10

Groovy. There’s no plot, per se, but there is a flow. In the spirit of an impressionist painting, this piece floats sound and images down the river of your mind.

I’m glad BlueYoda didn’t spoil the fun by listing the sources. It’s better to discover them as they happen. There are pleasantly surprising juxtapositions, some of which remind me of MTV when it used to play music videos.

This is the kind of collage your movie and music collection would create if the files began to talk amongst themselves and hook up. . . behind your back while you were sleeping.

This review is based on my opinions and my viewing experience. Nothing is meant as an attack. Spoiler warning.

This edit is pretty bad ass! It’s all very innovative and stimulating

I loved the random percision of jumping from one thing to the next, these switches never really seemed abrupt or out of place and it pushes the experience forward just right.

There seemed to be an internal battle of wills, something i can relate to, i think this was handled nicely, it has a cool yet dangerous feel, on the edge, seemed a bit melencholy at times and was 100% awesome.

My one and only complaint is the changing aspect ratios, I dont like changing aspect ratios within a film. It didn’t ruin the experience at all, but to me the edit is a bit incomplete because of this.

Audio was perfect, no jumpy volume or nothing

Hilarious menu!

9 out of 10!

Side Notes: I really really like this edit and found it very inspiring, thank’s for putting it together, blue I think this should be required viewing among the community here.

This release (like the first) is almost impossible to review in a normal fashion. Watching it is a little like dreaming. Things don’t always connect or make obvious sense on the surface, but they FEEL right. I spent the running time thinking alternately about what Blue Yoda might be saying at any given moment, and letting my mind wander on to what things meant to me. I really liked that it inspired thoughts of my own rather than simply telling me what to think.

I’m not sure what else I can say other than I enjoyed it. I think I liked this one more than the original actually. Although I have no idea what to rate it numerically. Might have to think about that a bit longer.

By the way, Blue…thanks for introducing me to that cover of Modern Love. I really enjoyed it.
