Heh, I've never owned any Xbox console. Though thinking about it, that they approached film playback on the XBox OG that way does perhaps make it unsurprising that Windows no longer has a native DVD player.
Anyway. I did a quick test of the burned disc this morning on PS3 and the transition videos play just fine, so I'm guessing it's a VLC thing. It will be interesting to see if the bug manifests with the disc version as well.
Inevitably, I did notice that there are a couple of points where the size of the menu image is not quite the same as the end of the transition clip so I'll have a quick look at that and see if it's easily fixable. It's a finesse thing rather than a showstopper, but equally if I'm going to do it I would like to do it right...
