Odd question but have there been any fan edit attempts for films retelling biblical events, like the Russell Crowe Noah film, the Christian Bale Exodus film, or the prince of egypt? I'd love to see if someone could make an extended cut of prince of Egypt or somehow mix prince of egypt and exodus. I had an idea myself to mix the two edits but I don't think it'll ever materialize.

Would love to know thoughts:

Hah I thought recently about trying to do Noah without the magic and rock creatures! Not sure if it's possible, but is really should be a story about a man and his god. I'm not religious anymore, but the idea of Noah to me is about the power of belief. A change in tone could make this secular movie into an actually good religious movie devoid of politics, which would be refreshing these days. Or about a crazy guy that just got lucky lol a la the Paranoia Truman edit!

A mini-series of multiple Bible adaptions a la subjectzero's WWII edit would be interesting to see.

There's definitely a lot of material for most of it, though not sure if all the books have been adapted yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_the_Bible

It would probably have to stop at Jesus' ascension though since I doubt there's any real adaption of the Apostilles' books nor Revelations.

And then you'd have to consider whether or not to use animated adaptions. A minus of that is obviously the changing mediums from live action to animation. On the other hand, a pro would be that you're able to use The Prince Of Egypt so it may be worth it.

This can be a very slippery subject.

This is a very slippery subject.

They've asked if any fanedits cover biblical topics (something many mainstream films over the years have done). A straight question which can be met with straight answers. The subject is only slippery if people make it slippery.

Of course. It was a straight reply with no hidden meaning or implication. Perhaps, I could have worded it better.
