Hi folks
What if I take an overlong 153 min movie, cut it to 102 minutes and then remove all the music?
What if I then do two versions each with a different score?
A lot of score replacement projects tend to either randomly use music from various composers, or will focus on one composer sourcing music from multiple films that they have worked on.
I propose to take two scores from two very different composers and then adhering to the discipline used by composes for film music composition, adhere to those principals as if the music had been composed for this movie.
What does this mean?
It means that I will use the themes and Leimotifs in a consistent manner both for characters and situations.
It also means that these two versions will feel VERY different from each other and of course different from the original but visually and runtime wise they will be identical in every other respect.
The workprint has now long been prepared waiting for me and I’m in the process of finalising the first version for which I will release a trailer as soon as it is completed.
Which movie am I using?
INGLORIOUS BASTERDS
WHICH COMPOSERS WILL I BE USING?
The Elmer Bernstein score, well I’ll let the trailer reveal that to you in a few days time.
